My mom was killed in a fire last night.

I got a call around 4 AM this morning. It was my mom’s next door neighbor in the town where she lives. The neighbor said my mom’s house was on fire, that the FD was there, but they hadn’t taken anyone out of the house. I called the PD there, and a Sergeant called me back, confirmed the fire and told me they had removed a body from the house. He couldn’t confirm that it was my mom, but no one else lived in that house.

I’m still waiting to hear more later today from investigators. I’ve been pacing around for hours. Haven’t told my kids. :frowning:

She lives in North Dakota. I live in the Twin Cities. It’s about a 5 hour drive only stopping for gas.

I might have to go identify the body. The body might be burnt. This is not a good morning for me.
