IME, it’s not the “active” part, but not knowing how to adjust your diet for your new activity level. When I have a very physical job, I was chomping down on about 2,100 calories a day and was as thin as a whip. Then when I was sidelined with an injury, I started chunking out because I hadn’t modified my diet to meet my lesser calorie demands.
Damn, that was hard to sort out! You get into a habit of eating X and it’s hard to figure out how to make dinner Y. It was like learning how to cook all over again.
I actually said out loud “Holy fuck!” when I opened that pic, not being prepared for just how much of a fat fucker he’s become. Truly truly truly distressing to see.

May I suggest you cut down on eating cellular technology. It goes straight to the thighs.
Yeah I know he’s gained some weight, but the overuse of the word fat seems a little much. looks at self and it kinda hurts.
