Yes, I know! I’m not THAT clueless. I was well aware that Miller is the Pit moderator.
My use of the plural “moderators” reflects my own experience as a moderator elsewhere, where we had a very consensual approach, and rarely made decisions individually without group discussion. Without thinking, when I wrote my note I assumed the same for the SDMB, even though I know that’s not nearly as true (though there are indeed situations where moderators consult each other).
ETA: and in case it wasn’t clear, my “rabbit hole” remark referred to the interesting discussions it was easy to get caught up in when searching the Pit forum for posts that included the word “recipe.” There are a gazillion of them, and some were quite enticing.
Wishing Ivy would post, as she seems pretty cool, is not a mindless drive by. Get a grip.

In case you hadn’t noticed, people swoop into the pit all the time to take a jab at a poster then leave. You are just taking personal offense in this thread because Beck is a friend and you like to defend her. We get it. If it were any other poster, I doubt we would hear a peep from you.
Unless, of course, you are contemplating opening a pit thread for every person that takes a swipe at another poster in the pit, in which case you are going to be a very busy person and your post count is going to go through the roof.
Personally, I applauded Beck’s creative way of handling this, for perhaps the first 30 posts. Now, it is getting a little old.

Thing is however that the thread was pretty much petered out. It had a bounce because some doofus revived it to complain about it and they got harassed some, but there wasn’t much about Beck going on. Either people have learned to skip her posts if they don’t enjoy them, or she had stopped posting in the ways that annoyed some number … dunno and don’t care … but really the thread being active now is really only by Beck using it as a Live Journal. Otherwise it would likely have just drifted lower and lower down …sooner if chela hadn’t revived it.
I asked Miller to close it. Denied. So I did my “Bury the Fucker” thing. Knock it down out of sight. Keeps coming back.
