@Stratocaster the interpretation is not very difficult. Beck is extremely thin skinned and really should mute the Pit completely. She is exceptionally poor at hearing criticisms.
AND the broad agreement is that she has still heard them over time and improved as a poster. Many participants here enjoy her contributions she has learned where they belong and where they do not, mostly.

I defend her because we are very good friends, and I know her very well. She really is a Sweetheart. It’s what you do when you love somebody.

While I have the thread subject on ignore and that isn’t going to change, the people complaining about her strategy in this thread, in ATMB and here, are hardly covering themselves in glory.
The other irony here is that – I’d allow, unwittingly – you just admitted to a double-standard, one which – IMHO – is at the root of the “soft bigotry of low expectations” at play in this dynamic.
Which – as I would argue, and have argued – I believe to be a poor and deleterious standard to maintain on the SDMB.

Does anyone ever “cover themselves in glory” on this message board, according to your exacting standards? My impression of you is that pretty much everyone pisses you off. I am curious to know who, if anyone, you generally admire.
