Miles the Monkey: Resurrection

Thanks for uploading NYC!

Oh boy! I will keep a close eye out for Miles!!! How about a picture of him with my Sunday School class? The kids will freak! Or maybe my cat Tobermory.

matt_mcl, thank you so much! That picture site is awesome and just what we need. And your pictures are incredible!
We need to get the pictures from his other visits in there as well.

Dopers, if you have pictures of him on another website, please upload them to the account matt has set up. Email him or me for the password and log in.

Baker, here he comes
Please make sure to keep him through the holidays so he’s not stuck in a box for Christmas.

Also, if anyone else wants to join up. It’s never too late!! Email “worldtourteddyAThotmail.com” and put your CITY STATE and COUNTRY in the subject line. Then in the body, include your full name, doper name, address and phone number.
Sorry, registered members only.

Thanks for playing, everyone!!!

oh, one more thing.
Baker, please coordinate with harmless and get her address from her. We need to put her address back into the Miles rotation so that she will get him again. Hopefully USPS doesn’t screw things up.

I’m worried. Is Miles supposed to have arrived by now? I check right down in the bottom of my mailbox, to see if there is a slip telling me to pick up a package, but so far no package, no slip.

Please reassure me that Miles is just coming along slowly. I’d hate to have him stuck in a box over Christmas.

Now see? That’s the problem with using a monkey instead of a bear.
Monkeys are just unreliable and flighty.
Bears you can always rely on.

Thank you for throwing me back in the mix. I’ve got a different address to try when it’s my turn again.

matt_mcl assured me in an email last night that Miles is indeed on the way. Now I need to go light a candle to ensure that the nefarious postal service doesn’t lose him. I will post when he arrives for Christmas in Kansas.

Today’s mail just arrived. Still no Miles. :frowning:

Put a banana outside by your mailbox.

Dang it. How do I get on the Miles list? huh?

I want Miles to visit Dallas!

I plead the 5th, lack of sleep or not enough caffiene. I somehow missed that!! :smack:

Okay email has been sent out. I bet Miles could love to head for Texas and Arlington Stadium (Texas Rangers baseball and Cowboys), then perhaps a tour of downtown Ft Worth and get his photo taken with real longhorn cattle!

We can also show him the State Fair of Texas, (although it is not running at the moment) the grounds are opened to the public all year. The fairgrounds have a lot of very cool art deco buildings.

I can’t wait!

How do I go about getting Miles sent to me?

I’d love to have a picture of him in my Taekwondo school!

Read #18, #23 and #31.

I missed it as well.

Keep your fingers crossed folks. I have a slip from the post office telling me I have a parcel to pick up!

Now, I am actually expecting two different items, but the non-Miles package would have been sent cheap rate only two days ago, so it’s most likely the monkey that is waiting for me.

I can’t get to the postal station for an hour and a half, , but I will post as soon as I get back!

: crosses everything! :

eevn my eeys are csroesd

I would love to have Miles come to Wabash, but if he came here, he would have to have a picture with the Monon Bell (one of the oldest football rivalry games between Wabash and DePauw). The sad problem is, though, that we lost the Bell this year. :frowning: So, I’m debating whether I should invite him here now or hope for the best next year. Any opinions, fellow dopers?

I took a closer look at the slip and saw that the “sender’s name” is mclXXXXXXX.
So it’s Miles!!!

But then I got to the postal station to pick him up, and the carrier wasn’t back yet. :frowning: I also missed seeing that the package can be picked up tomorrow after 9:00AM. So I drove back to my house and drove around the streets, hoping to see the carrier again.

See, when I came home the first time I drove by the carrier’s parked truck in the next street over. So I must have been this close to Miles. :smack:

I called the postal station, as I don’t want him to languish overnight if I can help it. In about half an hour I can call back and see if the carrier has returned to the station yet.

Miles first event in Topeka will be tomorrow afternoon. He will attend the 100th birthday party of my grandmother. I’ll be sure to get a picture of them together!

Hallelujah!
