Hehe it seems kind of wierd that I’m finding great white conspiracies now.
But does anyone else get a wierd kind of vibe from those Miller Hi-life commercials. The ones with the Down-home sounding narrator talking while faceless guys do manly-man things. The setting seems to be asort of 50s whitebread suburbia where guys mow thier own damn lawn and fix their own damn cars, and mistrust all them furiners. I just get a slightly xenophobic feeling, like kind of a “Wasn’t life better ‘before’” angle to the campaign. I realize that the whole thing is somewhat satirizing the life it’s promoting, but I was curious if anybody else noticed anything.
The one that sticks out for me is the one where they use the down-home narrator to discourage drunken driving. That one seemed odd to me.
