Miller's Crossing Theme Music

What is the recurrent theme music for the movie Miller’s Crossing? I bought the cd for the soundtrack, but the music was cut up into bits and pieces here and there. Where can i get the original? P.S. the soundtrack sucked big ones!

Also, i hope this is the proper forum for this Q. I am fairly new and this is my first thread posting!

If you mean the tune variations of which appear in tracks 1, 3, 5, 7, and 15 of the Miller’s Crossing soundtrack, it’s just an original composition by Carter Burwell. I agree it’s a shame how little of of Burwell’s work actually appears on the soundtrack CD.

Thank 'ee! From the Soundtrack, i thought that it was one of those Italian ones cosi fan or who knows …Is there a full length of it anywhere??

As far as I know there is no “full length” version of the Miller’s Crossing theme anywhere. Just to make sure–you’re not talking about “Danny Boy” (track 13)? We’re talking an instrumental piece, no vocals, which is heard in various versions throughout the movie, right?

right…sounds like oboe, with a harp arpeggio…kind of like Abraham martin and john from the 60’s…

Nothing of value to add, but I wanted to point out that Miller’s Crossing is one damn fine movie. My favorite by the Coen brothers. You can find the script online here: http://www.geocities.com/~mikemckiernan/mcscript.html

I concur; I know of no other movie so richly rewarding after several viewings. As a matter of fact, I would submit that it is impossible to completely sort things out the first time through. Not to mention the fact that the dialogue is so deftly scripted that its beauty is only revealed with repeated viewings.
