So I’m playing the game (a friend let me try one of his alt accounts) and it keeps going to the pause menu while I’m mining. What might cause this? It’s pretty irritating.
How is that a mouse issue?
For me, the “escape” key pauses the game, not a mouse click.
Do you have any mods loaded?
Do you have any other programs running in the background? (Say, voice chat.)
Well, I mean I’m clicking the mouse to mine, and every few clicks it switches to the menu, sometimes putting the cursor up afterwards. And the escape key still pauses it.
I can’t say why it’s doing that.
You may consider deleting the minecraft.jar file, (I believe that’s the name of the game file) and get a fresh download.
(If you have any mods installed, those will go bye-bye.)
It may have nothing to do woth the mouse. Do you have access to a different keyboard? I’ve seen many keyboards that would intermittently generate phantom key presses. If it’s the escape key that’s glitchy you might not notice anywhere else, since a lot of apps ignore the escape key.

heck, you don’t even necessarily need another keyboard. Unplug it when you’re some where you don’t need it, and see if the problem goe away.
This weekend, I was browsing the minecraft.net forums, and someone in there reported similar problems. (Unless that “someone” was also the OP…)
I did not see a reply to that bug report post.
