Correct. This is why today’s women quail and have their lives ruined by things that would have been but a momentary annoyance to women in 1960.
What you two don’t realize is that your view is an opinion . You behave as though I continue to turn a blind eye to the facts when the reality is that not only that there are no facts but only opinion. Additionally, there’s the fact that asignificant portion of America’s women don’t agree with you, as Trump’s election should have made you aware by now. To give just one example, here’s a post that appeared on my Facebook feed yesterday from one of those 1960s women who is 69 years old now:
When did this country become a country of totally pure ethical females and horrible degenerate males? I guarantee there are as many 15 yo girls begging and luring men to have sex with them or make out at some party. Women have to take responsibility for THEIR actions. I don’t walk down the streets of downtown LA at midnight counting the money in my billfold and then get mad because someone robbed or murdered me. You don’t go up to a mans hotel room alone and then be shocked that he makes advances. You don’t take three blue pills from a man and swallow them without knowing what they are and then be surprised you were drugged. You don’t dress like a hooker and then be surprised someone took your look to mean you wanted to be touched. You don’t put your career in front of your safety, go to his house, alone, and be surprised you aren’t reading for a part in his tv show. This country needs to get off its high horse and make women responsible for THEIR actions. It goes both ways. And every woman that has accused a man of rape by making up a story should go to prison.

I feel compelled to add other details of that time. I was frighteningly naive when I went off to college. I frequently found myself - put myself, if you insist - into very uncomfortable situations with men my age. I had not the words or sense of self to voice my objections until in a similar position as Dr. Blasey Ford, although not by force. When I finally did, I was met with frustration and disappointment, but never with threats or violence. All of these men - of age 19 to 21 - sighed and backed off. To my memory, all saw me safely to my car or home with no further advances.
I say all this to say, it was by no means assumed universally, or even commonly, that anything short of kicking and screaming is consent. I can’t imagine any of them putting their hands over my mouth and turning up the music to hide my screams for help. Even in the freewheeling 70s, most of the time no meant no.
So yeah, when women on this board who’ve obviously been steeped in the victimhood dogma of the left for years and years insist that I’m being a misogynist, I don’t come close to accepting that as fact.
