This gal is seriously off her nut. And every time I read about another of her shenanigans, visions of my sister keep popping up. 'Cept she wouldn’t have called for somebody to wire money; she’d probably rob a gas station or something.
I’ve been lurking on this since it began (as have hundreds of others, I see). Just wanted to say I’m glad to hear that MC is alive and well, and merely horrifically irresponsible, rather than hurt or in danger.
Uh, sorry, Scarlett–but in light of the way people seem to feel about Trucker, that could still happen . . .
And Skip, right you are. In addition to skipping out on work, she has also caused us to (unknowingly) falsify sick pay records, because she was actually off getting married when she was supposed to be on medical leave.
Kristi, she has a 20-something daughter with whom she is not on the best of terms. We gave the detective the daughter’s name a couple of days ago, but doubted if she’d provide any leads, given their relationship.

Yes, the teh heaps and heaps of toruble you can get into when you run off like that (bi-polar or no) can still be very dangerous. Recklessness has consequences. Personally, I’m still worried. I’m fairly confident she’ll reappear (even if it’s just the cops in a neighbouring state saying “yeah, she’s living with her new husband in an apartment in Canada.”) But she needs someone to bring her back to the real world.

I’ve been reading this since the beginning. Now that we’re relatively certain MC is okay physically, she needs a good firing AND a psychiatric evaluation.
Seriously, I know of 3 people (all lawyers BTW) who have pulled similar stunts: one moved without notice to England, one had a manic episode and went to Las Vegas (I think) and bought a new car for someone he didn’t know, and the last went on a week-long drinking binge when he found he had terminal cancer (he drove to NYC or DC and stayed holed up in a hotel for a week w/o telling anyone)

OK, OK, you’re right. But I guess when you’ve been around here and seen her pull as much crap as I have, you start thinking, “No way can she top this stunt!”
And then she DOES.
And it really is shocking. Not as shocking as finding her head in a box (I mean, I doubt I’ll need therapy because of this or anything), but still shocking how far she’ll go.
Anyway, who knows if she’ll even come back here to get fired? Of course, at some point she’ll want her car and belongings, and there is a paycheck sitting here for her . . .
Still, I doubt that “You’re fired!” are words that even NEED to come out of my boss’s mouth if and when he sees her again. I mean, she’s crazy but not that crazy.
Just in case, though, I should warn you that IF, for some completely bat-fuck insane reason, she manages to keep this job, THAT thread title will read exactly like this one, even though her head will still be attached.
And since one is coming up fairly soon, I think that we might be able to arrange that. Unless, of course, the boss actually kills MC.
Then yeah, we’ll bring along her head to show everyone.
