Not sure if this is in the correct forum, just wasn’t sure where to put this. Only my second post…but latest bit in the news disturbed me and prompted me to post.
If you haven't heard, there is an intern that has been missing for the last two weeks. She had reportedly been dating a politician, but was very secrative about the affair.
Just wondering what everyone thought about this. Is it a coincidence that a woman, that was an intern who was secretly dating a politician, is now missing?
Here is an article from the Washington Post that gives a bit of explanation as to why this girl is getting so much publicity. It doesn’t lessen the hurt and concern to her family at all, but it does put things in a bit of perspective. It also helped fill my daily cynical quotient. Must be nice to be a well to do, pretty white girl, no? Doesn’t reflect too well on our society, if you ask me. Oh, you didn’t? OK then, I’ll just quietly hit submit.
I know it sounds cynical but sadly people disappear everyday. That doesn’t make it any easier for the families… but there you have it.
Was she kidnapped and killed by stangers? Could it be related to her “relationship” to some undisclosed politician? Could she just have gotten fed up with it all and went to Tahiti for a month? Who knows. It’s probably just a coincidence that she was an intern in Washington DC and for whatever reason police don’t view this as a homicide. Her family is clearly plugged into the PR machine which is why you are even aware that it happened…
I’ve got no problem with the PR machine Chandra’s family is using to help find her. Chandra Levy just happens to be from the same town as the Sund family, the family who lost their mom and daughter (and friend) to a madman while vacationing in Yosemite National Park. The Sund family has amassed an amazing network of support crew out there because if their family members had been found in time, they would still be alive. This is our hope for Chandra, rumors and such aside.
If a loved one of yours disappeared, would you do any less?
