Yeah, I’m going to give you my credit card to get money you claim I have.
There is an amount of money that’s supposed to be in there for me from a certain company but it’s not. The same amount of money is supposedly owed by the same company to different people with my last name in a different city of my state.
They sent me straight to Louisiana’s site, and whaddya know? I don’t know the amount but I know what it was; my last check from a job when I moved out of state before they sent it and at the time I was so pissed at them I said “Fuck them!” and never thought about it until this morning.
Over $100 is all I know now, but hell, I’ll take it. Thanks!
Nothing for me, but my father’s name comes up a few times in that list. Last time I checked, there was something like $1500 in his name, sitting out there unclaimed. My father died about eight years ago, so theoretically I could try to claim it… but I’d need to track down the death certificate, prove that I’m his son, prove that I’m the heir… all very difficult, considering he wasn’t even a minuscule part of my life.

I found several hundred smackaroos of my dad’s a few years back from DECADES ago. Turns out as a recent immigrant he didn’t get the concept of a forwarding address, so his leasing company could never return his deposit.
It’s very likely to be an actual amount, but the data entry clerk failed to fill in the amount. Worth doing.
Yup, fortunately I was my father’s executor, so I had all that stuff. I bundled up the death certificate, a copy of the will AND a copy of some document I had at the time which attested that I was actually me, sent it off several weeks ago, and am still waiting.
With a little luck, my legacy will cover postage and copying.

My name (with middle initial) comes up (with a blank address) as being owed money by “Wisconsin 4100.” Never heard of it, Googling has so far been a dead end. Anybody ever heard of it?
(My full name with initial is fairly common, so I’m fairly certain this is for someone else.)
Found some leftover escrow from a mortgage that I refinanced with another lender three years ago. Thought I’d never see that money!
One of my sisters has three items in Texas; one of them has to do with her private practice. That could run into the thousands.
Didn’t go to that website but a few months back I used the equivalent site set up by the NY Comptroller’s office. I finally got the various checks last month and it added up to over $4800.
