Mister Rogers Neighborhood......

Anyone know why???

There’s a good video on youtube circa 1969 or so featuring Fred Rogers before Congress. He’s there to solicit funding. At first the politicians are all heavy and shit, looking like they would never spare a dime. After Mr. Rogers speaks his peace, the heaviest politician is completely overwhelmed, and promises Mr Rogers the moon and the stars. It’s pretty cool.
No link here, but it’s on youtube.

Here’s the link.

Thank you Bobo T for caring enough to send that link

There aren’t many people who would care that much about someone they’ve never met, and that makes you special!

Quasi:)

Supposedly, PBS is cutting back on “legacy” programs to make room for new ones.

According to this article, the network is including one episode a week in the syndication package it delivers to stations instead of the five it used to. Individual stations can choose to air more or fewer, but apparently it’s easier and cheaper to stick with the standard package.

If enough people write or call, though, a station might decide it’s worthwhile to run daily episodes.

Thanks for those links!

An e-mail and a letter will be sent.

Mister Rogers was a friend to am 11 year old German-American kid who spoke only ‘pidgin’ English which he learned by trial and error: Me.

I’m going to throw my two cents in, too.

The funny thing about that was the senator was completely unfamiliar with Mr. Rogers’ show, which is hard to imagine today.
