In a previous thread we held a Mix CD challenge; put together a CD of 10 to 12 tracks, no more or less, along a specified theme. To make it cool, name your CD.
For instance,a a previosu theme was “Create a CD with songs with animals in the title,” so you could make this CD:
“Menagerie”
Eye of the Tiger, Survivor
Animal, Def Leppard
The Lion Sleeps Tonight, whomever that was
Long Snake Moan, P.J. Harvey
…So on and so forth.
You may not put together any one CD with more than one song by any given artist, though related artists are OK (e.g. a song by the Beatles and a song by Paul McCartney as a solo artist is fine.)
That thread started out okay and then sort of stopped because we had too many themes, so if it’s okay with you, let’s stick with the CD themes I cite, see how far it goes, and I’ll start another.
Here are your CD challenges:
Challenge 1: Put together a CD for me of songs with titles that contain a geographic place name - the name of a city, province, state, region, country, whatever - that is not located in the United States. Non-geographic places (“the kitchen”) or metaphorical places (“my heart”) are not permissible, nor are nationalist or geographic possessives (“Russian.”)
Challenge 2: Put together a CD of songs performed by artists who are not from countries where the majority first language is English. (Celine Dion is out, party because Canada is mostly English even if Quebec is not, and mostly just because I don’t like Celine Dion)
Challenge 3: Put together a CD of songs with titles at least six words long. For bonus points, do this without including any song put out by an emo band in the last three years.

You could just use almost the entire Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 album. Except that tecnnically this entry doesn’t count, as
And they barely are disqualified, having put this out in 2003 and being referred to as Emo in many musical categorizations. Now, IMO the KSoSE-3 album isn’t emo, even if Second Stage Turbine Blade is, but eh, whatcha gonna do.

Does the song HAVE to be in their own language? For instance, if I have a song by a group from Norway (from there and currently living there), but they’re singing the song in English, is that disqualified?
If I actually MAKE it (not a CD, but rather, put together the songs as a sort of podcast), would you actually listen to it/them?
