I like to put the postseason in my Outlook calendar. Just a brief summary of it, very distilled so I have the basics handy with me on my laptop at work, and on my phone too.
Thought I’d share this, in case you find it helpful.
Do any of you also do this or something similar? Is there something equivalent already out there such that I’m reinventing the wheel here? If so please let me know so I don’t waste my time in the future.
To do this I create an all-day event in Outlook calendar showing time as Free and without a reminder. The all-day event started on 27 Sep, the first wild card day and it ends on 28 Oct, which would be game 7 if the WS goes that far. That’s one long event, about a month long for the entire postseason.
I title this event MLB 2020 postseason, and then I can search back to prior years as desired. I’ve found it to be handy, and it’s text only for a light data footprint.
When each postseason round ends I move that to the bottom so the current round moves to the top. You’ll see my dividing line below, followed by a very brief season summary and then the wild card results since of course those are done by now.
I thought I’d put this out there in case any of you wanted to use this. I won’t commit to daily updates, but I might end up doing that here. Who knows. But if you do this it’ll then be up to you to update your own.
It should be pretty self-explanatory below, but maybe the times need a hint. I use 24-hr times and NATO time zones. E.g., the first Yankees LDS game has 1700U_TBS. U = Pacific time zone, and the game will be on TBS, so that game is at 5pm Pacific on TBS. You can change the times to your local time zone, R = Eastern, S = Central, and T = Mountain if you want to follow this format. If you have any questions about mu info or format just ask.
The info may appear cryptic and blunt to you. If so, my apologies, but I’m trying to be efficient and succinct.
The Outlook event content follows after this paragraph and runs to the end of this post. Have fun with the postseason! And I just gotta say this, since I’m an SFG fan I have just become a huge fan of the SDPs. Go Padres!
