MLB: 2022 Postseason

WOW!

(And more because Discourse doesn’t understand humans.)

WOOT! Mariners Win!
You win a game like that, that gives you the confidence to not give up in the playoffs.

I meant to type 7 or more because they were down 8-1.

Overcoming a seven-run deficit, the Mariners have tied the second largest comeback win in MLB postseason history. The record is held by the Philadelphia Athletics who came back from an eight-run hole against the Chicago Cubs in Game 4 of the 1929 World Series

@RickJay if, in the future, you would like to ban me from ever commenting on anything that would be deemed “pro-Blue Jays”, I completely understand. What a bad beat.

The Argos beat the Lions in a game that was happening right across town right at the same time. That jinxed the Jays (and, geez, the football game was almost an hour shorter).

That was a couple of very entertaining games today. Provided, of course, you have no stake in who wins or loses. (Sorry RickJay).

It was mentioned that the Mariners were the first team to come back down 7 or more on the road in MLB playoff history. The other comebacks were home teams,

Disappointing, but a fun game.

Since they have been playing in the big potatobug, their post season record there has been 4-5. Maybe they will fare better as a WC team.

Yesterday was a very good day of baseball. 3 of the 4 games went the way I wanted them to. Now the Padres just have to regroup and eliminate the Mets.

The next round is going to be rather uphill for my secondary teams, but I’d love to see both the Yankees and the Asterisks eliminated.

Chapman off the Yankees ALDS roster because of missing a workout. That definitely takes a certain type of arrogance or stupidity.

I’ll take any excuse to get Chapman off the roster. At one time he was the dominant reliever in the game, now he’s only good for mopping up. He’ll never be what he was and if he never pitches for the Yankees again it will be too soon.

Yeah, I wonder if he knew he was going to be left off anyway. Still, not a good look for him.

He was pitching better this September. He wasn’t going to close, but I doubt they intended to leave him off.

If you’re going to employ a woman abuser, some other character flaws are to be expected.

That said, I don’t see what purpose he’d have served as a baseball player in the postseason. His command is gone.

Yeah he’s lost probably 5 mph off his fastball and doesn’t have enough control to throw a strike when he needs to. At one time at the top of his profession, now with the 3 batter minimum you just take a chance on him loading the bases. On top of that, his character falls far short.

I didn’t know an umpire was allowed to run his fingers all around a pitcher’s ears.

If that’s where he’s hiding something, fine. But wet willies are not allowed.

Interesting that in the first round, three of the four matchups went to the lower-seeded, visiting team. Let’s see what happens to Cleveland when they visit the Yankees :face_with_monocle:

And Cleveland’s wins were 2-1 and 1-0.
