MLB: 2025 Postseason

Doesn’t the NBA have like 19 championship tournaments anymore?

Can’t touch 2021 Tampa Bay though.

ALCS Game 2 is turning into an old-fashioned buttkicking.

Let me tell you that at a glance, I read that wrong. Really wrong.

So someone else read a “K” as an “L”?

Also, Josh Naylor is the first Mariner to get 3 or more hits, a homer and a stolen base in one postseason game.

Toronto being down 0-2 in the series with three out of the next five games being at Seattle is going to be a tough hole to climb out of. They’d have to go 4-1 or better.

The next three are at Seattle, I believe.

There are a handful of teams (2 or 3, I think, but cannot verify) that have lost the first two games of the LCS at home, and then came back to win the series.

I saw on Twitter, someone talking about Monday Night Football scores, that the Mariners were beating the Jays by a touchdown.

Yes. Games 6 and 7 would be in Toronto if the series lasts that long. It’s 2-3-2, Toronto-Seattle-Toronto.

The Jays cannot be in the World Series without winning at least 2 games in Seattle.

It’s a daily double tonight for lovers of fine sportscasting. Smoltz on baseball and Aikman on football.

Just once, I’d like to see all sportcasters forced to call a game that’s not of their sport. Get Aikman to call golf, tennis or hockey. Put Smoltz and Mike Breen on Monday Night Football.

Same!

Not me. Two letters read differently. K was one of them…

Naylor has been a fantastic pickup. His outstanding offense makes up for any of his defense snafus like his error today. He doesn’t look like a guy that should be stealing that many bases. Love the guy!

And Polanco has been so

He’s also normally very good defensively. He doesn’t look flexible but I’ve literally seen him do the splits to catch a ball while tagging the bag.

He got this out last year (before he was a Mariner of course) and I think he was in the Matrix.

He’s not perfect but he doesn’t error very often. He’s solid on defense. Unlike others playing first base in Seattle early this season.

Oh, 100%! It was just a very recent error that was on my mind. As I said, I love him as a player. He is very fun to watch.

I completely understand, as someone saying “Dammit Naylor!” at one point today.

Geno was the feel-good acquisition this year (and no question he’s great too) but Josh is what put this team over the top.

He made a very poor throw in the first inning today, which led to an unearned run.

But going 3-for-4 with 2 ribbies and a HR more than made up for that miscue.

Agreed!

Won’t it be great if the M’s don’t have to return to Toronto this year?

Hard to say whether the problem was Jays’ offense forgot to show up, or Mariner’s pitching was overwhelming. But Dayum was that a spanking.

Turning to LAD/MIL:
3 innings in and negligble offense on either side.

If somehow these two games represent the pattern for the WS, the AL will slaughter the NL, no matter which two of these four teams are involved.

As I’ve understood it, the union would agree to a cap as long as there is also a floor and significant adjustments (downward) on the length of a rookie contract with the removal of the gamesmanship. I.e., if teams have to spend between (making up numbers) 65% and 75% of revenue on player salaries with a hard cap of 3-4 years on a rookie contract, the players would probably sign.

Can’t say I’ve seen one of those double plays before…

Holy crap, what a play. Might’ve been a Slam, then might’ve been one, then NOPE to both!

Hate the Brewers. (Cubs fan). But I’m secretly hoping they beat the Dodgers overpaid and whiney lineup. (Live in LA, and usually root home team, loved them in the LaSorda days as a kid.)
