MLB: 2025 Postseason

The Toronto guys just said the opposite. I’m not seeing good control here.

Good to see the Jays in their home whites. Powder blue is road gear.

ETA: Kirk ripped an inside pitch. Ohtani’s worth now is do you try and get another at-bat from him.

You disagreeing with me, or them? confused

(sorry for confusion) I’ll just say Ohtani is a bit dicey with command of any of his pitches, so I suppose with them.

ETA: Argh, I must have read you wrong. We all agree. Sorry again,

ETA2: He’s batting cleanup, so I reckon the score after this half will mean a lot.

Remember, Ohtani can be pulled from the game as a pitcher and remain as DH.

I think Roberts should be happy he survived two innings and get Glasnow in there. Ohtani isn’t right.

It seems Ohtani got extra warm up pitches?

Well, now, maybe Ohtani should have had more warmup pitches.

(He didn’t get more warmup pitches, but he was late getting to the mound, according to the announcers.)

“abbreviated warm-up”. I guess you can’t really protest game 7, but whatever the penalty is for playing the "I am the greatest and rules don’t apply to me"ought to get some action from Schneider tham “fuming in the dugout”

A blast. Blame it on the warm up clock.

New Ohtani rule: No warm-up or pitch clock for the Star.

Every now and then I make a good prediction. Ridiculous by Roberts to send him back out there with how little command he had.

So it’s “Live by the Ohtani; die by the Ohtani”?

Absolutely. After his AB he should just be DH. He had no command over any of his pitches. And I dunno what the drama was with being late to the mound.

Jays flashing some leather to keep the lead. Scherzer is probably done…he was hit pretty hard in that inning.

How do you say, “Yo la tengo” in Canadian?

That should be it for Scherzer yet this feels like a new game.

As I said in another post in a wrong thread, I really loathe IBB’s. x2 on Roberts putting him out there with the total lack of command and snap on his breaking balls.

Wow, benches empty.

That was probably the most ridiculous pro forma “brawl” of this century.

Lots of inside pitches. You can do that but they’re allowed to not be happy about it.

I didn’t see the catcher protect the pitcher. That and ump warnings to both teams are lame.

My memory isn’t great, but it’s been a while since I remember seeing the benches empty in a World Series game. Anybody remember seeing that happen recently? Or ever?

2000 World Series
Roger Clemens throwing the shards of a broken bat at Mike Piazza in 2000 while PIazza was running whatever out. Piazza should have crushed Clemens. I guess he was all “WTF?” and that cleared the benches.

Wow, good recall! I obviously had totally forgotten about that dustup.
