MLB: 2025 Postseason

For which Clemens excuse was “I thought it was the ball”. Because as we all know after a pitcher fields a ball they throw it at the runner…

Steroids make you do crazy aggressive things

Fastball? We don’t need no stinkin’ fastballs. Nice outing.

Battle of the bullpens with the Jays up 3-1? Should be a solid advantage for the home team. But it’s Game 7 so anything can happen.

Do the Jays have any of their starters available in relief?

I see none of them up yet some insurance would be good. If this goes to extras I suppose just about all of them are?

All except Scherzer.

LOL! Well put.

Gausman pitched 6 innings last night, so he’s probably not available, except in emergency. Otherwise, the entire staff should be ready to go.

The last time I was at a Jays home game in Toronto, which was about ten years ago, the songs were “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” (the one you referred to), and “Okay, Blue Jays,” which was written especially for the Jays, back in 1983:

This is getting very tight.

Huh. I didn’t know teams did otherwise than “Take me out to the ballgame” and of course I was referring to GBA which I don’t think was used in the first game back after 9/11 between the Mets and Braves, ended with a long homer by Piazza. Yet once the Yankees started using it, if you were a patriot (or "non-un-american / terrorist) you had to at least rise before any peanuts or crackerjack.

For the games I was at at Wrigley, it was an event often joined by celebrities like Bill Murray and of course Harry Caray ("If the Cubs don’t win it’s a shame!)

We’re almost there and if the Cubs don’t win, I hope the home team does.

Pretty surprised to see Yesavage here. Just doesn’t seem like the best spot for a young kid in an unfamiliar role.

You don’t know, till you know. I reckon the conference helped there. Get Freeman into a DP.

eta: I am not usually the oracle for plays and that was really close.

Helluva DP turned there by the Jays. Their defense has been stellar tonight.

Blue Jay’s defense has been superb this game.

I don’t really follow baseball, but man, taking it to Game 7 and with a score this close is definitely nail-biting tension. In hockey, a 4-2 lead is fairly strong assurance of a win, but in baseball anything can happen. One grand slam and it’s suddenly 6-4 Dodgers!

Rooting for the Jays, of course!

Now I’m surprised Yesavage is back. And now he looks completely different,

All sliders. Keep them and the splitters going.

Wowza huge blast.

All good until you hang one.

Closer in now to try to get the final 4 outs. And Ohtani will definitely bat again.

Bringing in the closer in the 8th.
