Figured it out by going through a lot of box scores. Anyone want to guess who or how many years ago?
My picture has been frozen for about 10 minutes. Is this happening elsewhere or is it a local thing due to weather emergency breakins?
Local I think. I’m good.
My top three guesses are:
Dontrelle Willis
Mark Prior
Micah Owings
Pineda is nasty.
You’ve got to go quite a bit further back than those guys.
Going through those box scores, it’s amazing how many crap players made the rosters. This guy was a worthy All-Star, but not a Hall Of Fame candidate.
Weak, Cabrera.
I just did - wow.
Charles Nagy got a single off of Doug Jones in 1991, unless I missed a double-switch somewhere.
That’s the guy I got as well.
I missed the 2nd to 5th due to having to observe someone else’s dinner schedule (I’m on the west coast at the moment).
So, I missed Asdrubal’s second at bat. Which I guess sucked. Did he do anything in the field?
There’s a typo in the year. You’re one year too early.
Another year, another Royals All-Star pitcher rides the pine while the A.L. manager brings in a Yankee pitcher to blow the game. Because fans weren’t seeing enough Yankees. F them.
If next year’s AL manager doesn’t have the good grace to play the Royals representative in front of a hometown crowd, something is seriously wrong with this game.
Or it could just be this…
Plus, I really don’t think that Ron Washington would be particularly concerned about getting more Yankees into the game.
What are you talking about? C.J. Wilson, Jordan Walden, and Brandon League are Yankees now?
The only Yankee pitcher was Robertson, who gave up one hit and no runs.
Unless this is a whoosh.
Chris Perez did good in his inning! It was funny when he gave up a double to his former catcher, and then was cracking up over it.
Colibri:
Hmm, where did my mind go? I would have sworn that it was Robertson that gave up the 3-run homer, but clearly I’m addled.
My All-Star Game expectations have been colored by Phil Hughes last year blowing the game while Joakim Soria never got to pitch. And by Mariano being called upon two years earlier before Soria, even though it could have been the final inning. (Though it turned out not to be and Joakim was allowed to put in an appearance.)
Who was the Royal on the team?
Aaron Crow. Reliever with an ERA under 2.
We’ve come a long way since Mark Redman.
How is Scott Rolen an All-Star?
FWIW, Here’s last year’s answer.
