Depends on what you mean by “get $140 back.” +140 means if you wager $100, you get your wager back ($100) and win $140 on top of that. (You get $240 when you collect on your bet.) So bet $100 to make a profit of $140. If it were -140, that would mean wager $140 to win $100 over your initial wager. (You also get $240 when you collect on your bet.)
Batted 1.000 on my picks to reach the ALCS and NLCS.
Still an opportunity for an Indians-Cubs series, the ultimate competition between “we’ve suffered more” and “No, we have”.
Thanks. I had that wrong in my head (thinking it was only a $40 profit).
Devon Travis has had 11 post season at bats so far. 4 of them have ended in double plays. :smack:
Well that was one of the most frustrating games I’ve ever watched. Estrada was dealing for 8 innings, Kluber was in trouble in the first four innings, but the Jays can’t get anything done.
Also, that plate ump was awful, for both teams. Ironically the call on Encarnation that got the biggest reaction was actually the right call, but there were many, many terrible calls tonight.
Ya, but really stranding that many runners.
Sent from my adequate mobile device.
That offering to Lindor looked like a batting practice pitch, just sort of floating up there with a big sign reading “Hit Me.” I only saw the homer itself, as a highlight–maybe it made more sense in the context of the at-bat–but it’s hard to imagine that’s the effect that Estrada intended.
Unfortunately for the Jays, all it takes is one mistake when you can’t score any runs yourself–and you’re down in the series.
That’s what happens when a guy is sitting on a changeup. Estrada might have missed his location, too. I’d have to go back and check where Martin was set up.
Can we just bring in the fucking robot umps already? Miller steps to the mount and anything between the goddamn chalk is a strike.
And the Tribe goes up 2-0 in the series!
Some great pitching combined with some…not ideal calls behind the plate. I don’t think I expected this series to be so low-scoring at this point.
I can hear the noise from Wrigley from my window. Helicopters everywhere and loud crowd noise. I’m off to watch tonight’s game at a sports bar in the neighborhood! I hope to hear Go, Cubs, Go blasted loud throughout Wrigleyville in 3 hours or so.
3 hours? Based on the games the Dodgers have been involved in thus far, I wouldn’t count on it.
Goodbye Blue Jays!
Why in the world do you send Gonzalez in that situation? He’s a slower runner, and you would have had the bases loaded with the top of the lineup and a righty at the plate. I don’t get that one.
Nor is Toronto hitting well. Tomlin threw many hittable pitches. They didn’t hit them.
Lucy: “Say, you don;t think Charlie Brown will try to steal home, do you?”
Violet: “Never! Not even Charlie Brown would try to do something that stupid!”
Javier Baez is apparently no Charlie Brown…
I don’t like pulling Maeda here (despite, as I am typing this, Ethier hitting it out of the park). Maeda had been keeping the Cubs in check the last two innings, and the Dodgers have been hitting Lester hard and getting unlucky. I would have liked to see a little more patience here to get some length out of Maeda. I feel like the Dodger offense might have broken through eventually.
Ah, well. Time will tell.
My phone is moving faster than the streaming video.
My phone just showed that Ethier homered. The stream just had Lester walk.
I’m now done hating the Cubs for crushing my Giant dreams.
Go Cubs!
Mariners fan here …
Am I the only one who thinks a Cubs-Indians WS would be awesome?
