Should we assume that Bumgarner never makes a triumphant gesture or otherwise shows emotion after getting a key out?*
*not that there has been an overabundance of such moments in recent years for him.

Paul Goldschmidt is an idiot and I say this as someone who has followed his career since the D-Backs. Get the damn vaccine.
Not arguing, but see Post 65 from July 13.
What does Cal Eldred have to do with Paul Goldschmidt?
One of us didn’t count right.
Are the Red Sox yellow and blue (incredibly ugly) uniforms somehow a nod to Ukraine solidarity?
The colors were chosen as a nod to the Boston Marathon (and Patriots Day) – those colors are the official colors of the Marathon, and were chosen in 2021, before the Ukraine war.
Two nights ago, I watched the Cubs/Pirates game (the Pirates’ catcher Tyler Heineman is A BEAST; I think he threw out three runners, and tagged someone out at the plate on a wild pitch) because my Nats were in Los Angeles, the game started at 10 o’clock my time, and I didn’t want to stay up an hour past my bedtime to watch my last-place team got smoked.
AND WE WON. So i watched the replay on MLB.tv.
And again last night, I didn’t stay up late for the Nats game, AND WE WON AGAIN.
We won the first two games of a three-game series against the Dodgers, in Los Angeles.
Good job, boys. If I was the superstitious type, I’d watch on tape-delay the rest of the season and we’d win the World Series.
Strong disagree on this one. Those jerseys are awesome.
I imagine these days the Red Sox faithful would like what’s inside the jerseys to be improved upon.
Obviously the big story of last weekend was Toronto beating Boston 28-5, but I’ll tell ya what, I watched the whole series and the Red Sox weren’t much better in the other games. I have never seen a team play worse defense over the course on an entire series. It was appalling. There was a Youtube video with “ten plays the Red Sox botched during the series,” and they actually left a few out.
I am mildly surprised they haven’t fired Alex Cora. It was that bad. Sometimes in baseball you get outpitched or outhit. That just happens, it’s how it goes, and if the other team has better pitchers and hitters, whaddya gonna do? But bad defense is totally on you, and that defense was inexcusable for a professional baseball team.
Totally agree. I’ve been to lots of minor league games and never seen anything nearly that bad.
And the first trade deadline move comes to enrich the Yankees as they pick up Benintendi.
And of course the next four games have the Royals visiting the Yanks.
The Yankees have one more series at Toronto (Sep 26, 27, 28). But the Blue Jays lead the wild-card race right now, so there’s a chance that the Yanks would have to travel to Toronto for a playoff game. Wonder if Benintendi would get the vaccine if that happened.
So I guess Joey Gallo is a bench warmer full time now.
wow you get lucky and win 2 and all of a sudden ya takin’ the series with a record of 34-66? good luck with that ![]()
Did anyone see the news about Mike Trout, and his “rare back condition” that he may have to manage for the rest of his career.
It doesn’t say exactly what the malady is, but it could drastically shorten his career.
Yes it does. His trainer specified it as “costovertebral dysfunction at T5”.
“Costovertebral dysfunction may happen as a result of trauma, postural strain or repetitive injury especially when compression or rotation occurs.”
That doesn’t sound good for someone whose job is basically exactly all of that.
Fair enough. I must have overlooked that. Thanks for the correction.
And jeopardize his precious bodily fluids?
Doubtful.
