MLB: June 2012

This was Bumgarner’s first-ever complete game, but really his first should’ve come in the 2010 World Series. He was cruising through the eighth, and Bochy pulled him for Wilson to start the ninth. Oh well.

Four straight Giants shutouts, and Cain starts tomorrow. They’re doing well. This is fun.

That was great game, a classic! I was upper deck, center field. Where were you?

From my seat I had a great view of Johnson’s walk-off landing in the left field bleachers.

Well that didn’t work out so well for the Reds! Amazing the Giants had four no hitters in a row. That’s unreal.

Hopefully the Reds will fare better tonight. Its pretty rare for their offense to be shut down like that.

Lower deck, right field. Traffic was so horrible getting into the 'stick that I got there in like the 3rd inning, and missed somebody’s HR (JT Snow? Bonds?). Fortunately there were still 9 innings left.

I was wrong…it was a 4-2-3 DP.

That would be both amazing and unreal.

Four shutouts, on the other hand, is more believable, although still pretty impressive.

The MLB network is trying to drive me crazy. I am going to go on a shooting spree if I hear :

“Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet”
Or
“I hope…this…I hope this gets to you. To youuu”

One more goddamn time.

Edit : Not to mention, “Got heeeeem!”

Joe

Oops. That’s what I meant. Stupid fevered brain. Still damn impressive though. Here’s to hoping Joey Votto hits five doubles tonight in a 14-2 win.

Holy crap, is that jingle back? I haven’t heard that since, like 1975 (which happens to be the year our family TV broke and was never fixed or replaced).

I’m getting sick to death of the Pepsi commercial they run 5-6 times during every Mariners radio broadcast.

“Man, I’m digging this Melanie Amara track!”

"Do you know that if you play it backwards, you’ll hear subliminal messages?

first guy is so amazed he has a seizure

Good grief, is it the '80s again? Backward messages? Seriously? The stupid - it burns!

He did it again. It’s the first time a player has hit for two cycles in the same season since 1931.

Well you got your damn win. Enough already, you’re done, no more wins for you!

(I am hoping)

Seriously, the Reds have a strong offense and a good team. Should be a good series.

I’m generally of the opinion that a bad night at the ballpark is as good as a good night anywhere else. But last night at Busch in 100+ degree heat getting watching Wainwright and the bullpen get pummeled was the exception.

At least Carlos Beltran got his 2000th hit… so congrats to him, I guess.

Who’s pitching for the Giants tonight? You guys get Matt Latos.

Zito

Down goes Zito! Down goes Zito!

These are a couple of pretty evenly matched teams. Good game today.

Jim Thome is an Oriole now. The AL East just got more interesting and it already was pretty interesting. It probably won’t happen, but this could be the year that neither the Yanks or the BoSox make the playoffs.

Uh-oh. Votto left the game with a boo-boo to his left knee. Could the this be the break the Pirates were looking for? Maybe, except McCutchen left his game with a wrist injury. Go Cards!

The D-backs have had a great June, they’re only 3.5 games out in the NL West. Carlos Lee doesn’t want to go to the Dodgers, who have been beyond horrible going 1-9 in their last ten games.

Another NL West championship for the D-backs looks possible as we move into July.

Yasmani Grandal just became the first player EVER to hit a homer from each side of the plate for his first two MLB hits.

That’s strange because I was sitting in my living room where it was about 90 degrees and I enjoyed every minute of that game.
