LOL, I’m not too excited, but getting a four game sweep on the road is no easy task, even against a bad team. Still, the Reds had a pretty good June, going 18-9 for the month.
And I told you guys about Billy Hamilton…he’s giving teams error-inducing fits on the basepaths, and now he’s starting to hit well too.
Samardzija is sort of the AJ Burnett of his day, a guy who when he’s on really looks awesome and puts up sweet K numbers, but hasn’t actually proven he’s an All-Star. You’d be paying for potential, and the guy’s 29 years old.
Jake Arrieta has a no hitter in progress as we speak (No, i don’t care about jinxes) and he took a perfect game into the 7th. Samardzija’s bargaining position isn’t be helped by this. And my God, I’d love to see the Cubs no hit the Red Sox.
Not quite, but one hit in 7 2/3 is nothing to sneeze at. Great outing by Arrieta.
A no-hitter broken up in the eighth by Stephen Drew–the way the man’s been hitting, that’s a surprise.
