He was batting ,243 with one home run.
He’s only 26 and can play several positions. He’ll be in the majors next year. Sucks, but he’s in a position to come back in the big leagues.

Saw something I never saw before in yesterday’s Yankee game. Yanks had runners on 1st and 2nd and try a double steal. It looked like it worked- but when the catcher threw the ball to 3rd his arm made contact with the umpire’s mask and knocked it off. Umpire called interference on himself and sent the runners back to their original bases. I’ve never seen a play where an umpire interfered with a play, time to read the rules and see which section applies.
I think it’s 5.06c:
Thank you kindly, I think you’re exactly right.
Jose Alvarado with an 80 game suspension for PEDs
No hitter in progress, Rangers Jack Leiter no hitting the Astros. Guess most of the USA are becoming temporary Rangers fans
Edit: Broken up top of the 7th with a homer.
Not me. I’m still pissed off at Bob Short.
The Twins winning streak is over at 13 wins, with 34 scoreless innings. Second-longest streak in team history, behind their 15-straight wins in 1991, which ended in a World Series title.
To clarify, that was 34 scoreless innings in a row, including 3 straight shutouts. Damn impressive.
Twins climbed into second in the AL Central. That division could be quite a race this season.
The problem is after the natural rivalries are all chosen, there are some teams left over that have to be paired.
Yup, and while there are six teams on the West Coast, the other four (Dodgers, Angels, Giants, A’s) have either a longstanding rivalry (Dodgers-Giants), or are “rivals” due to proximity (Dodgers-Angels, Giants-A’s); those more natural pairings leave the Padres and Mariners out in the cold.
Even Boston vs. Braves is pushing it. How many fans remember the
the Boston Braves? 1952 was the final year in Boston.
The other ‘unnatural’ pairings this weekend are Atlanta/Boston (as noted by @What_Exit, and Rockies/D-Backs, who play in the same division. (As do the Astros/Rangers, but at least that’s an in-state rivalry.)
Rockies/Diamondbacks are the “Mountain Time Zone” rivalry, as they’re the only two MLB teams in that zone.
Great point!
Of course, Arizona has its own time zone…
Kinda-sorta, in that they don’t observe Daylight Saving Time.
Alternately, Rockies-Diamondbacks are the “1990s Expansion Teams, Western Edition” rivalry.
Bellinger has gotten hot finally, 3 for 3 tonight and just hit a grand slam. Yanks up 8-2 over Mets.
A rather large throwing error opened the door for the 6-run 8th for the Yankees. Five of the six runs were unearned.
Mets also walked 8 Yanks.
If you look at the play the ball is sailing over the baseline at the same time the runner crossed the plate. A perfect throw probably gets him. It’s iffy that a good throw gets him. If the catcher had to move his glove at all to apply the tag he’s probably safe. Dominguez can run and he had a good jump on contact. The error did allow Wells to take third.
