Winner take all, starting shortly. Are we ready?
Tru dat. But that would have been within the eras I defined, so the numbers are OK. I agree that one could break things down further on that basis, but didn’t feel like digging to see when they did those changes.
Does ready to puke count?
Ready?
I’m so excited
I just can’t hide it
about to lose control
and I think I like it.
Go Astros!
We were born ready!!!
Signing off until after my nephew’s baseball championship game — hey, that’s two winner take all games tonight for me!
Excellent point!
Thanks!
Aaaaand, there it goes already! 7 pitches, 2 runs, Astros!
What channel’s hockey on?
It ain’t over until it’s over
McCullers is just throwing the same pitch, over and over, and it’s working. Seager and Bellinger knew what was coming and couldn’t help but flail at it.
ETA: McCullers then threw mostly fatballs to Puig and kept missing, eventually hitting him (had Puig dodged it it would have been Ball 4 anyway.) So it’ll be interesting to see if, with Pederson up, he just throws the breaking ball down and in over and over.
I swear to God, the hitting coach needs to tell Bellinger to not take the bat off his shoulder.
Hell, in this series even when it is over it’s probably not over.
Does this umpire have a definable strike zone? I know the computer generated tracks aren’t perfect but it seems like pitchers can put 4 balls in the same spot and half be strike, half balls.
After his last start, I can’t figure out why Darvish got the ball this game.
If I recall correctly, the Game 3 start by Darvish was the shortest of his career. You had to think he would do better this time out.
He didn’t.
McCullers has hit three batters now in two innings. But he has been lucky in getting out of men on base situations. So far. It’s early.
Here comes Kershaw.
Personally, I think this is a bad move by the Dodgers.
As an aside McCullers’ necklace rocks.
Looks like it is electronic the way it flashes.
I want one.
Where can I get one?
McCullers just hit #4 batter. This is ridiculous. I haven’t seen something like this since I watched Ryne Duren(drunk) back in the 1960s.
Nothing else is working.
If they keep hitting this badly it won’t matter if they put in Ariana Grande. Actually maybe they should have her hit for Bellinger. She’s half a foot shorter than Jose Altuve; if she can lay off the damn inside curveball she’d have a better chance of getting on base.
Bellinger finally gets on base. Of course, it’s a fielder’s choice…
I was wrong. I thought that the Astros would get to Kershaw…but he did exactly what his team needed him to do.
