Congrats to the Red Sox! And now they’ll have home park advantage in the World Series.
Red Socks reminded me of the Astros last year: determined, talented, and unbeatable. Good luck to them (esp. if they meet the Dodgers).
As for my Astros, the number of injuries is a big reminder of how hard it is to repeat winning the World Series. Having few or no injuries to the key players made last year a lot easier for us, and the constant, nagging injuries to key players this year made it a miracle that we made it as far as we did. Congratulations to everyone. And here is hoping that all our guys are healthy next year, that Correa gets rid of his back pain once and for all, and that Altuve hasn’t done any serious damage to that knee by refusing to rest.
I predicted the Red Sox would win the World Series in 5. I was almost right.
Today you cannot bring me down or shut me up.
Wait till they win the Series
I’m still holding on to the slimmest hope of my original prediction of Boston over Milwaukee
I think Boston has to be considered a solid favorite over either Milwaukee or Los Angeles, considering how badly they torched the Astros’ pitching staff. And an improved David Price can’t be a good omen either.
Definitely agree. But, as they say, that’s why they play the game.
If LA wins, I’ll be pulling for Boston. But if Milwaukee wins I’ll be pulling for them. Either way, Boston is by far the strongest team. LA is strong also, but not so strong with that bullpen.
Still going with the Brewers.
For all the marbles.
The two Dodger losses have come in games after Milwaukee has had days off. I’m not feeling super enthusiastic about tonight. Obviously, I’d love for the Brewers to give up runs early and to have them play completely deflated, but I’m not counting on any of that.
If the Dodgers can’t win, I’m hoping they manage to exhaust the Brewer pitching staff, and for tomorrow night to be when Walker Buehler comes into his own (with Kershaw ready to back him up if he starts to struggle). But, again, I’ll gladly take a win tonight if we can get away with it!
As others have noted, Dodgers seem to have problems manufacturing runs - not good for Dodgerland.
I’ll have to cut my right nut off to admit this, but I’m backtracking on Counsell’s decision re: Miley. I thought it was nuts; in reality, it might have been brilliant. I still question Counsell’s handling of his bullpen earlier in the series, but the Miley head fake start might turn out to be one of the most ingenious managerial maneuvers in a long time.
I think both the Dodgers and Brewers are underdogs against Boston, but I’d rather see what a scrappy and unpredictable team like Milwaukee can do. I think LA relies too much on power - power pitching and power hitting - to win. I don’t think there’s anything about the Dodgers that scares Boston or makes them stay up at night. But Milwaukee’s a little, well, different. They scrap and scrape, they take advantage of miscues. They can play long ball or small ball. They’ve got a solid bullpen. I think Boston’s still a big fave, but Milwaukee might be a more interesting opponent.
Ditto!
I’d love to see a Brewers-Red Sox Series.
Obviously Fox is praying the Dodgers will slip in instead.
Can’t wait for game 7 tonight. I love game 7 of pretty much any sport, but this will be a great one. My guess is Walker Ferris Buellher Texas Ranger will probably only pitch 2 innings, then comes Kershaw, then anyone else…
I live in L.A., I root for the home team (4th on my root list) but I’ve watched Dodgers a lot this year. They don’t have that hitting “guarantee” they did from previous year. It seems when they fall behind, even in the 4th or 5th inning, they’ll swing at anything. They’ll swing at a moth near home plate, dear og. So if they want to win, they better bat with brains. The Brewers are stacked with hitters, and after last night, Brewers definitely have the advantage.
However, Boston Red Sox are my AL team. They’re a freight train this year. My prediction is Boston in 5 games against Brewers, Boston in about 2 and 1/2 against Dodgers.
Yes, game 7s are great, and this should be a good one!
Okay, when’s the last time you saw a bunt on a 3-2 count?
No official save for Kershaw. But, he did get one in 2016.
i do think I want to kiss Puig right on the lips.
That was awesome !! Fantastic !! Dodger Magic (pun intended)!! Absolutely historical win!!
Red Sox in four, hands down.
I am very happy right now. Deep in the heart of Giants country, I have to keep my true love secret, but very, very happy!
