This, except I root for the Royals, followed by the Cardinals. So I also will root first for the Guardians and secondly for the Mets.
Of course, I actively root against the Yankees and Dodgers, so I’m hoping the Series does not feature those two teams. But even if that happens, I’ll watch the Series, because baseball.
I used to hate the Yankees, but now I just don’t care about them. OK, so they bought another pennant. Boring.
I still hate the Dodgers, somewhat because I’m a SF Giants fan, and also because Dodgers.
So I’ll watch either of the Guardians matchups, for the same reason as Kenobi and Railer. I’ll skip Yankees/Mets because I don’t care about either team.
It’s a close call if I’d skip the Yankees/Dodgers because I don’t care about the Yankees, or hate-watch it because of the Dodgers. But I settled on skipping it. I can’t get excited about seeing the Dodgers lose when it’s the Yankees beating them.
Baseball is baseball. If the Cubs were in, I’d watch every second. If my backup, the Bravos, were in, I’d make sure to catch every game. Anybody else, I will watch when I’m front of a tv and the game is on, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way to “schedule” my watching. I’m split though, one the one hand, it’s Shohei and I don’t get to see him that often; on the other hand, two east coast(ish) teams makes the scheduling more friendly.
All the 4 permutations should make for a quality series IMO. But as others mentioned the allure of a team breaking a long drought would be especially attractive.
Well, first Yankee run tonight scores on what should have been an easy fly out.
He’s the most PROLIFIC, but it’s impossible to compare guys in the wild card era to people from baseball’s past. Altuve’s career postseason numbers are basically his regular season numbers.
