Wow, what a game. I’m exhausted.
Oh yes. Had some of everything.
That’s fun baseball.
Wish that had been Game Seven.
Ultimately didn’t make a difference; a 2-run HR would have walked it off for the Dodgers just as much as a 4-run shot.
Yup. With guys on second on third, a solid single would have finished the game anyway; the runner on first was superfluous, and allowed for a possible force-out play at home.
Nevertheless, it was the first walk off grand slam ever in a World Series game.
And I hope there’s a generation 100 years from now reading about the first walk off grand slam and falling in love with baseball in 2124.
Perhaps they’ll be fans of the London Kings, and Buck Bokai.
(Though, the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine timeline is already incorrect; they had predicted, in 1993, that Bokai would have begun playing professional baseball, for the Planetary Baseball League, in 2019.)
Tigers fan here, but pulling for the Dodgers over the Yankees.
What an ending. Reminded me of Kirk Gibson.
19-year-old Pearle Peterson just nailed the national anthem! Nice!!
(I’m a singer: that song isn’t easy at all!)
I thought it was an 8:08 start? What was that crap holding up the game?
It was (c)rap “music.”
Soto Homer ties it back up. Judge looks off, this is bad.
This game is going to give me heartburn.
Judge is slumping at a perfect time of the season. Yankees did that with three batters slumping when the Sox (whooo!) came back in 2004. Today, Dave Roberts is managing, their old buddy Mookie…
ISTM a bit unusual I believe to have a guest-star performance immediately before play, as opposed to in the middle of the whole pregame tributes/anthem/first pitch/etc. rituals. But hey, West Coast, represent. Though I gotta smile that in 2024 Ice Cube is mainstream enough for baseball.
I hope you’re well stocked with Pepcid. It’s looking like a longball evening.
Ooooooh! Teoscar was due! Boom!
I’m in LA. Bars are going nuts.
Another homer from Freeman!
Yeah, this game is going to be…interesting.
As they should.
Indeed.
