True. I’m not a huge fan of the rule, but I gotta say I don’t mind not having any guys looking like Blackmon or that guy in Philly.
Wouldn’t everyone love if the Yankees can hold on and make this a real series?
Not really.
Eh, it’s been pretty real so far, though sure, I appreciate having games be whole-game contests as opposed to everything major happening in the 9th. And to see the teams behaving like themselves.
Stanton is of course contributing to trying to achieve that.
One yes here. If my team isn’t in the series, I always want it to go seven. It’s a bummer once the season is over.
Judge tries to knock down a wall chasing a ball, again, this time at home. Careful, dude.
(Meanwhile on non-game broadcast notes: noticeably more presidential-election spots, where I’m sitting.)
Wow, just 3 [edit] boneheaded defensive plays by the Yanks there. Dodgers doing the Yanks favors by swinging at atrocious pitches tho.
And Freddie makes them pay.
Well…
Look on the bright side, he didn’t slam it this time.
But in the end, well, it was as if he had anyway – mistakes have consequences. There’s reasons these two teams are playing in the World Series.
Wowza.
At this point, you got to wonder if it’s not Judge, but Ohtani, that is having a “slump.”
Freeman now has twelve (!!!) RBI in the World Series, tying the World Series record.
To be fair, he’s playing with a shoulder injury.
2 on for this inning, and FF virtually guaranteed to bat in the 9th now.
Loaded.
Pitching is about to hit critical mass for both teams, but especially the Dodgers. We may see Ohtani.
Tie game.
Wow, catcher’s interference of all things now.
7-6.
Announcer: “They have made it 7-6 in the most preposterous way”.
No, not preposterous. You make mistakes, you pay a price, as mentioned earlier.
Everything about the Dodgers scoring in this game has been preposterous. A five run inning with no earned runs? The Yankees should be running away with this.
They got Freddie Freeman out, for once. That was Freeman’s first strikeout of the series.
For half the game, they were well in command. Then something went very wrong.
Judge trying to get it back going.
Clutch pitching by Treinen. Although he was helped by Stanton swinging at the first pitch after the previous batter walked on five pitches. And then Rizzo strikes out on a pitch that wasn’t really close.
Great game to watch.
3 outs left of the season.
