MLB: Post-Season 2019

I remember Smoltz commented after game 2 and was reflecting on how the Yankees went to Atlanta 0-2 in ‘96 and managed to completely reverse the momentum. And I just thought "Whatever, Smoltzy. Keep tryin’ to sell it - Fox needs viewers to tune in, but it’s over. Congrats, Nats."

Turns out, Smoltz knows a little something about the game.

How expensive is a beer in DC that the guy had a Bud Light in each hand and let the liner homer bounce off his chest?

Nats are pulling a 2006 Mavs.

Trump lustily booed at the game when shown on the jumbotron. Seriously, why is he there? He doesn’t like baseball and nobody wanted him to be there. I didn’t like Dubya but at least I knew he was at least interested in baseball.

Unfortunately the last three games (including this one) have been going for the Nats as I was afraid the whole series would go from the beginning.

It’s always $11 beer night at Nats park. If you want something better than Bud Light, $16. Seriously.

That’s pretty much standard pricing at most MLB parks these days. I remember AT&T park had beer for $10 back in 2012 – at least it was Longboard.

Wow. I think the craft beers at Wrigley go for $12, which I thought was crazy outrageous, except that the swill went for like $9.75. And Comiskey Park, I mean, the G-Spot, Guaranteed Rate Field, or whatever they fuck they call it these days was not much better (I think the crafts were $12 there this year, too. Thought I would save some drinking money taking my family to see the Sox, but, no. I just didn’t have any beers.)

What are they chanting? It sounds like “umps suck” but I can’t make it out.

I remember reading an analysis of MLB umpires and call accuracy. The numbers were even worse on called third strikes and it was theorized that it was partly due to umpires loving their little punch out dance.

I have an opinion about the officiating, but i think it would get me banned, even if I posted in the pit.

Definitely a questionable third strike.

The strike zone has been terrible and inconsistent all night. And don’t get me started on that weird chuffing sound the ump makes.

I think MLB and/or Fox encourages the theatrics - the whole ‘mic’d up’ thing.

Well, it is entertaining.

19-3 score over the last three games. Astros are just wiping the floor with the Nats by this point.

Has there ever been a World Series where the home team lost every single game, all 7 games?

I don’t think that’s now looking likely.

But don’t listen to me - my projections for this series have been far from reality.

I like it when Trump was booed at the game.

Not yet, but hope springs eternal.

I also liked the chants of “Lock him up!”

They were saying “Boo-urns.”
