I’m leaving work in an hour to head down to Nats Park. This is going to be fun!
It is predicted to be 94 degrees at gametime for the Dodgers-Cardinals today. It will be fairly miserable in the stands. Really hoping that Kershaw’s performance makes up for the heat!
I have no idea how I’m going to concentrate at work today leading up to the game.
Just a note to myself:
Regular season monthly threads - 30 days each, maybe break 100 posts.
Post-season thread: 2 days in, already over 200 posts.
Go, Blue!
Time Warner Cable, at least in our area, also allows you to watch live online. I don’t know how it works, so if anyone needs more info I hope my husband will be able to comment.
2 run HR for Markakis!
Okay, the “lifts and separates” baseball commentary is gross.
Also, Detroit? GAH! You bastards.
In case anyone’s planning on watching today’s Cardinals-Dodgers game and needs help knowing when to drink:
I would take that to the game today, but I can’t afford that much alcohol.
Also, does anyone other than Vin Scully refer to Puig as the Wild Horse?
Well crap!
I watched the first three innings at the gym, and i left with the Orioles up 2-0.
I get some gas on the way home, then sit down in front of my computer to find that Baltimore is behind 5-2.
Orioles got one back in the bottom of the 4th, after a great at-bat by Hardy and a soft single into left-center scored Adam Jones. 5-3 Detroit now.
Home plate umpire Scott Barry seems to have a rather wide but vertically compressed strike zone, especially for Verlander. He has called strikes on quite a few pitches that are well off the plate outside, but he has also called balls on some pitches that are clearly in the strike zone at the knees and the chest.
Wow, nice DP!
What a great double play. I didn’t think there was even a chance.
Just need to stay within a couple of runs; waiting for Detroit to go to the pen. Verlander’s at 76 pitches going to the bottom of the 5th, he’ll be out of there in the 7th I think.
Gausman looks GOOD up there today.
My liver can’t afford that much alcohol! Hell, Potpourri #4 (Position player bunts) will kill me every time Dee Gordon comes to bat!
Nats-Giants starts in half an hour. Go Nats!!
And Verlander’s pulled with no outs and a man on first in the 6th. Here’s Baltimore’s chance.
OK, let’s do this thing.
Go Giants!
Two on in the eighth.
When did Joba get the beard?
Right after all those bugs attacked him in Cleveland?
