MLB: Post-season

Orioles are lucky that wasn’t called obstruction, but what a heads-up play by the shortstop that was!

That was a really ugly play. Schoop dropped the ball, lay all over the runner, then picked up the ball and tagged him out.

Should have been ruled obstruction and safe.

Of course, it deserved to be an out just for really crappy base-running.

Crap! Hardy should have taken his time and thrown to first base.

Miguel Cabrera is slower than me, and they would have got him easily.

“Tie goes to the runner” is a sandlot rule, not in the actual rules of baseball.

I understand that, but it often seems that this is the way it’s actually called as well.

The rules themselves, i believe, say that the runner actually has to beat the ball to the base. This wording actually implies the opposite of “tie goes to the runner,” because if it is a tie, then the runner, by definition, didn’t beat the ball.

Through five innings now with no score still.

Two hits and one walk for each team. Norris has 83 pitches through 5, and Price has an economical 69. At this rate, Price could easily be there into the 8th inning or later.

The longer this game goes, the more pressure the Tigers will likely feel. Especially with their bullpun looming.

That was a typo, but I’m leaving it.

Nellie Cruz homers.

2-0 Baltimore.

And 2-0 Os.

Nice. A quick 1-2-3 inning for Norris after the Orioles stake him to a lead.

Here comes the eighth. Four runs, six runs, eight runs, more?

Not today against Price, i don’t think.

You’re right.

Very nice inning there by Miller against the top of the Tigers order.

Three more outs.

Come on Zach.

I’m chewing my fingernails here.

Wow. Intentional walk to put the wining run on first.

Let’s Go O’s!!!

Sweet! Goodnight, Detroit.

9 of 11.

Intentional walk turned out to be the perfect decision by Showalter.

Sinker-ball pitcher induces a grounder. Double play. Game over.

Bring on the Royals (i hope!).
