MLB: Postseason 2015

How does Clayton Kershaw not get called for a balk? He never comes close to set when in the stretch.

If the opposing team keeps hitting through your shift, maybe you should stop shifting?

Sweet! Gonna need another one of those games from Syndergaard tomorrow to beat Greinke…

I know I’m this board’s #1 Josh Hamilton hater, but he does truly stink in the postseason. The Rangers should bench him.

The way Mattingly is managing our team, I can’t help but wonder if he is secretly still on the Yankees payroll.

Case in point: Seager has the potential to be a great player for many years to come, but with a mere month in the majors, there is no reason that he should starting over Rollins, who has way more experience and defensive skills, is a better leadoff hitter than Crawford, and had great numbers against the Mets.

If the Dodgers blow this, I really hope the owners clean house, removing Mattingly, our steroid-munching hitting coach, and legend in his own mind Andrew Friedman. Then we might have a chance.

I think the Mets pitchers got used to playoff-style pressure early in the season when the offense was so bad that they didn’t dare allow any runs.

Quite a second inning in St. Louis.

Cubs get 3 runs without getting the ball out of the infield, thanks to two throwing errors, two squeeze bunts, and a slow hopper up the middle.

Then Jorge Soler smacks a two-run home run to deep right center.

Cubs lead 5-1. All 5 runs unearned.

Go Cubbies!

Cubs big inning just scored me a 25% discount from one of my favorite pizza places!

Why did the Cardinals change pitchers in the third? There was really only two earned runs.

Nice to see the most underutilized move in baseball, the safety squeeze, used twice in succession. Don’t know why it’s nearly extinct, good on the Cubs for pulling it off.

Garcia was reported sick with a stomach virus.

What amazed me the most, i think, was that the first one worked. It was the pitcher at the plate; surely you have to be ready for a bunt in that situation?

Mets up 2-0 in the second on two solo homers.

This is what I told my Dodger friends: Mets in 4 games.

The Dodgers and Los Angeles share a common outlook: never look beyond the city. My friends seem outraged that they’re not sweeping the Mets! Kershaw is the best in the league! But he mainly pitches to teams that have no playoff hopes. Out of two decent starters, one will usually win in their situation. I could be wrong about that tonight with Grienke still losing.

Their batting is just uninspired. They watch too many 3-2 pitches, don’t bat consistently. Maybe it’s the batting order. And why the hell do you start a rookie and leave Rollins on the bench??

Why are they bringing in Colon with 1st & 3rd and 1 out? Don’t you want a strikeout pitcher? Or is he a particularly strong ground-ball pitcher? Don’t know his GB/FB ratio.

ETA: See?

Everyone makes this mistake, but it always annoys me that the Mets insist on pitching their two good relief pitchers in the 8th & 9th innings, never before.

I know that most baseball fans won’t agree with me, but i think that sort of slide is bullshit.

I understand that sliding is a part of the game, but if you crash into a fielder without ever even making an effort to touch the base, that should be interference.

Are you fucking kidding me? They just reviewed the play and determined that Utley, who never came close to touching the base, was safe.

The Mets are getting truly screwed here. Utley’s slide was bullshit and they go back and call him safe. It’s bizarro world out there in LA. I have no dog in this fight but I hate to see such an injustice.

I’m a Dodger fan, and I agree. I think he should have been out, and I think it should probably have a penalty of the batter being out, too.

This is some bullshit.

Wow. Terry Collins should be protesting this game.
