MLB season ticket holders, how many games do you go to?

Last night, I and 17,115 of my closest friends enjoyed a battle between the two worst teams in the American league, with a game-time temperature of 107 F. I had so much fun, I’m doing it again tonight.

It struck me, as I was melting at the KC Zoo today, that this will be the first time I’ve ever been to a major league baseball game two consecutive days. This is a failing on my part, I know, but still . . .

I’m certain we’ve got season ticket holders here.

Do you make it to all the games? Make it to 50 or 60, and then maybe skip one of the 107 degree F. games in August? Make to every game for many years?

I split season tickets for the Cardinals, and go to about 25 games a year. If the team is really good I might snag some other tickets for a few games, and hit just over 30. In a bad year I’ll sell more and might only see 20.

Me and wife had Cardinal season tickets up to this last year (damn kids). We would end up using around 60 of the tickets ourselves, and giving the rest to friends and family. In the years we had tickets I can only remember a handful of games that went unused.

I don’t know if you count mini-plan holders for this.

I usually have a ticket package that ranges from 15-25 games per season. I generally go to all of them unless I get stuck at work, or something like the following* happens:

jsgoddess: “Hey, were we supposed to go to a game last night?”
Me: “No, no I don’t think so. I would have remembered.”
Her: “Are you sure?”
Me: “Yeah, positive. Besides, I have all the games on my Google calendar, so I get the reminder on my cell phone.”

::checks phone for the first time in two days::

Me: “Shit.”

*This scenario is purely hypothetical, and in no way indicative of anything that would have happened last Tuesday night, for example.

My brother-in-law used to get 1 season ticket to the Reds and 3 other people he knew also got 1 each. They would then divide up the schedule somehow so that they each got all 4 tickets for about a fourth of the games. (Since 81 is not divisible by 4, I am not sure how they handled it, but they never had any trouble).
