MLB: The Playoffs

I just lined into a triple play of missing the point.

Perhaps my previous instructions concerning this sort of thing were not sufficiently clear? Did I not state that there would be no more potshots about who did or didn’t understand baseball? Why, looking back, it seems I did. And never let it be said I don’t keep my promises; What Exit?, you will not do this again, and I’ll note a light warning, shall we say.

And Frank, you skated close as well.

I’ll let the thread run a bit longer to capture more LDC thoughts but close it later.

Bullshit! Dumb yankees! I wanted a rematch with my Phillies!! Oh, who am I kidding? Cards will win 11-0.

Aw, come on, Rick Jay! We got more games coming, I got bubble gum and Cracker Jacks I’ve been saving since the '70s for the NL games tomorrow!

They can apologize to each other; they’re a bit stressed now.

Quadruple play. It carries over into the next inning.

Try to get back on tomorrow. Ive been on my Ipod touch and its a ting up. Good luck to Detroit as I dislike Texas in general. Hope St louis or Brewers make it through so I have a team to root for. As long as Philly doesn’t winit all I’ll be happy.

I’ll let it run for now, with the Game 5s coming up. Tomorrow is going to be a hell of a day for baseball.

When Benoit missed that ground ball ,I had a flashback to the World Series when the Tigers blew it on pitchers errors.

Yeah. I’m planning on eating a barstool watching the Phils. Perhaps two barstools. This, of course is when I run out of the CJs I mentioned.

My apologies.

Fun fact: A-Rod has six years left on his contract. Sigh.

I am sooooooo happy the Tigers dispatched the Yankees. Really, I was waiting for the Yankees inevitable comback and advancement, fully prepared for my seething anger…but it didn’t happen! Yay!

Now Go Brewers!

I’m pulling for all the midwest teams. Tigers, Brewers, Cards.
An NL championship match-up between the Cards and the Brewers would be sweet. Somewhat reminiscant of the 82’ World Series.

Holy crap what a catch by Young. Willie Maysesque.

Agreed. Too bad they couldn’t get out of the inning. Of course, the inning ends up much worse for the D-Backs if he doesn’t make that play.

Rodriguez looked to me like he was pitching absolutely terribly - hanging everything, no command at all - but Arizona’s hitters bailed him out, especially Goldschmidt, whose last swing was just horrible. Most times you throw that kind of slop, you don’t survive the inning.

Talk about executing a safety squeeze when it REALLY matters! Nicely done!

Happy Lendervetter said it. If you don’t think this is great sports drama, seriously, there’s something wrong with you.

What other sport does this - the thrill of anticipation mounting again and again as each pitch is delivered? What game gives you this kind of constant emotional up and down - the release of tension after a strike, then it builds up, a ball, building, another ball, building, the ball is hit and the excitement begins. No running out the clock in this game with a late lead. This is fantastic.

Correct on both counts!

So THAT’s what all the hubbub on the mound was about… We weren’t sure what was going on there.
