Was he fielding or on base?
Winter’s nearly two months away still, plenty of time to get two more games in.
I think he was called out running to first, but I’m not sure. Anyway, watch out for that.
Or the NBA could, y’know, cut at least a month off the beginning of its schedule…
We’ve got a foot of snow on the ground in the Denver area.
They have good pitching. that is why they won their division easily and almost went to the series.
Someday, it will happen. The series will not be able to continue in one of the home cities due to cold terrible weather and perhaps too much snow.
For the first time we’re watchong a game that could be the final one of the season. What a season it’s been but geez but am I ever apprehensive about the outcome. So what, let’s get this wonderful sonuvabitch underway.
It’s pretty early, but Garcia isn’t hitting his target on any pitch. Michael Young got himself out on pitches that weren’t actually where Molina wanted them, but Garcia’s location is awful so far.
FOX flashed an interesting fact; this is Tony La Russa’s 6th World Series, and the first one hes ever been in that got to Game Six.
Tony should be ready to semaphore the bullpen.
Pretty lucky to hold the Rangers to one run after that shaky start. But after 23 pitches in the first inning, if he doesn’t get it together quickly, it’ll be a short night for Garcia … Innings-wise, that is. I’m sure it will seem plenty long to him.
Implosion alert.
I have no idea what either Holliday or Salas were thinking on their respective errors.
I can’t believe it’s still only 3-2.
“It’s a real problem for Washington, if you leave Napoli in the game, you’re not sure if he can score on a hit to the outfield.”
McCarver really is a dink, isn’t he?
Well, the Rangers are at least going to try to return the favor. Of course, the Red Sox fan in me is quite sure that the Cardinals will fail to capitalize.
I think Holliday said “take it”, or somesuch, and backed off to let Salas make the catch–but Salas thought that Holliday was calling him off, so he peeled away. Then they both realized the miscommunication, and both started going for the ball again.
I suppose. I seem to recall being taught how to make sure that didn’t happen back in Little League, but perhaps I’m not remembering correctly.
Holy.
Shit.
The Cards keep insisting on giving the Rangers every chance to blow this one wide open, and the Rangers keep saying, “No, no, after you, Alphonse.”
Michael Young with a brutal play. I know you love Young, Ron, but, really, Mitch Moreland should be playing first. This is the most fun atrocious game I’ve seen in years. Both teams are playing like the Orioles.
Wow, what an error by Young. I think he would have been struggling to make the play at second anyway.
ETA:
I don’t really care who wins the whole thing, but i’m cheering for the Cards tonight just so we get another game.
That’s quite a play by Napoli.
