I’d expect a bunch of runs in game 7, too because the 'pens are going to be tired. But you never know.
Holy fucking shit, what a baseball game. Freese is the MAN!
Incredible…stuck here at work, so I couldn’t watch, but listened to the whole thing. Unbelieveable. It has to be one of the greats.
That was a, um, decent game.
Hey, at least we can go to bed now. We’ll get 'em in game 7!
The words “instant classic” are used too often these days, but instant classic instant classic instant classic.
Damn it!
Twice we were one strike away from winning the championship tonight.
Mavericks/Heat, that is the scary analogy I have in my brain.
Night folks, hope the judge will be hungover, too, tomorrow
Damn. For both comedy and drama, I can’t recall another Series game remotely like that.
I have no dog in this fight; haven’t even seen an entire game of the Series…until tonight. Picked a great time to jump in. That was…awesome.
FWIW, I think Holliday was safe (and technically, if you block the base without having possession of the ball, it’s Obstruction, but you never see that call in MLB). And Cruz was so lackadaisical on Freese’s 9th inning double, I assumed he was going to catch it.
And I have no idea why Fox keeps putting Nolan Ryan on camera. They could just show a cardboard cutout of Nolan Ryan; it would be as emotive.
The last time I saw Nolan Ryan look like that was after a Pujols home run.
Wow.
Wow.
“How did this happen?”
I hate McCarver, but that was a good line. And I have no idea.
Y’know, I set my DVR for Game 6 on Wednesday. The one that didn’t get played. Did I remember to set it for today, while I was at work all evening?
No :(.
Ah, well. At least we get a game 7.
I freakin love baseball.
I particularly love baseball with Twitter commentary.
Wow. I guess I shouldn’t have gone to sleep on time last night. That wasn’t the score I expected to read this morning.
What a game. In the morning light (okay, it’s still dark) I’m not so pissed and I can say I enjoyed it. It’s just that it brought back a lot of memories of Rangers games in mid-season in years past when they would invent new ways to lose a game. This game had a lot of those elements. For example, the two solo homers earlier in the game. I found myself thinking, “Why couldn’t they have done that earlier when they had all those base runners?”. Nooooooooooo - they whif away when the bases were loaded. It was an omen, I say.
I got tired of the bozos on TV and turned on the radio along about the thrid inning. Not to defend Cruz, but the radio announcers were saying before the hit in the 9th that the outfield was shifted for the hitter to pull to left. So, Cruz started out in a bad spot and Washington should share the blame for that one. I still think Cruz should have made the catch, though. It was a defining moment and the moment defined him.
I feared for the worse when they put Oliver in to pitch. I haven’t seen the stats, but my anecdotal samples indicate he gives up a lead better than any pitcher in the Rangers bullpen.
I won’t be near a TV tonight so I will have to attempt to find the game on the radio on a night when the AM airways will be dominated by high school football.
So if the Cardinals win, he’ll snag $250,000. And if they lose?
Hell, if it were my bet, I’d put $125,000 on the Rangers tonight. That way, you make a good chunk of change no matter who wins. I don’t think my heart could take an all-or-nothing game for that amount of $$, especially if it played out like last night.
Yeah. I had the pleasure of watching 1975 Game 6 (Carlton Fisk) (on TV), which I always thought was the greatest WS game I ever saw. This one was right up there.
Too bad this had to start so late and a lot of us day shift workers in the eastern time zone couldn’t stay up and watch it. At least #7 is on a Friday, as it should have been scheduled in the first place.
