MLB trivia question

One of the announcers on tonight’s White Sox-Yankees game made an offhand comment that “only three players have played for the Yankees, Mets, White Sox, and Cubs.” He never told us who these were (or at least I didn’t hear it), and rather than research it myself I thought I’d throw the question out here and see if anyone can give a quick answer.

I’m pretty sure one of the three is Goose Gossage (Did he play for the Mets? Vague recollection of a brief stint there). Any guesses for the other two?

I never ever would have had a clue, but they figured it out at Ask.com:

Lance Johnson, Charley Smith and Dick Tidrow.

That’s a good one. Try this one:

During the time that there were 4 divisions in MLB (AL E & W, NL E & W), only one player ever played in all four divisions in a single season. Name him and the teams he played for.

I’d like to know the answer. It’s hard to believe that happened. Was it a pitcher?

Dave Kingman, 1977, Mets, Padres, Yanks, Angels.

I assume they got it from Baseball Reference - Multi Franchise Players. Lot of fun stuff on that website.
