I can attest to welbywife being a strong-minded person. Don’t ever mess with her Cobb Salad is all I’m saying. She was fully in the right, though. I thought it was hilarious.

Just came back from a departmental meeting. I provided the Dove Dark chocolate to sweeten the boss up. I’m hoping he’ll say go ahead and take 59 minutes, but somehow I don’t think he will.

Did you know that eclipse peppermint mints make your nose runny? No? I didn’t either, until today. Sheesh!

Need to work some more on a table/chart combo thingy.

gt, I’m good at cleaning, but I HATE tidying. I would far rather scrub under the freezer (which I just did) than tidy (which I haven’t done yet). I actually moved the freezer and scrubbed the floor on my hands and knees in preference to getting stuff off the couch and clearing off the table and my desk. I think there’s something wrong with me.

So I’ll clean if you’ll tidy.

I hate tidying.

I like the look of things when they’re tidy, though.
My google ads are for plus size bras. Are they suggesting that I need a plus size bra?

Well, I am so excited to get the painting done now! Yesterday, my boss told me about a big housewares/domestics sale at the Meier & Frank stores - clearing out inventory that they won’t carry as Macy’s, apparently. So me & the mister went shopping last night.

You think men don’t like to shop? HAH! They do when they’re saving up to 72.5%, apparently! We (mostly at his insistance) spent about $440 last night, and got:
For the bedroom (which is going from lavendar & blue to aqua & cream/tan):

a queen-size down comforter

queen duvet with matching shams (reversible light/medium aqua)

2 small decorative pillows, in shades of blue, aqua and green

2 sets of 400 thread-count queen sheets, with extra pillowcases (one light blue, the other tan)

For the master bathroom (which is going from screaming yellow to slate blue & cream):

slate blue rug set (bath rug, contour rug, toilet seat cover)

set of slate blue towels (2 each of bath towel, hand towel, washcloth)

For the hall (guest) bathroom (which is going from gold and light & dark blue to gold and mossy green and deep reddish brown):

mossy green rug set (2 bath rugs & toilet seat cover)

For the kitchen:

set of knives (6 kitchen knives, 6 steak knives, 4 cheese knives, kitchen scissors, mezza luna, knife sharpening rod) in rotating block

set of 16 drinking glasses (8 short, 8 tall)

set of 6 tall pilsner glasses

It rained here a little while ago. Just outta the blue… KERSPLASH! I swear, one minute it was all nice and sunny. I go in my laundry room to put on a load of towels, take a look outside and it was pouring. Now it’s sunny again. And hot. And humid. It’s summer.

ACBG is bringing me supper. He’s bringing me chicken ‘n dumplin’s, collard greens and squash, cause that’s what I said I wanted when he called me up from the place the’s gettin’ it from. He’s sweet sometimes. AWWWWWW

The othe day I had to wear a pair of boxers from a couple years ago, before I lost all that weight, and I felt like I’d packed a parachute in my pants. It was weird.

We spent an hour and a half talking to a bank guy about re-financing our house today. We’re gonna pay off all our credit cards! Woot! Then some of them at least, are gonna get chopped up. :smiley:

As for your double post Swampy, I suspect those mushrats have been molesting the hamsters. I’m just sayin’.

I wonder if we need any housewares?

Yeah, he actually wanted me to buy more. He’d go find shit and bring me over to it and say “how 'bout this? Do you want one of these?”

And I mis-typed - the sales were up to 77.5%, not 7.25% (75% off, then another 10% off the remainder). That stuff would have cost us over $1,600 at regular prices.

Damn - I should have looked to see if they were selling Roombas™!

I have to admit; I was eyeing that Roomba too. However, I bought a Dyson last year, so I couldn’t really justify to my husband why I need a Roomba.

I know why I need it. I only get around to vaccuuming about once a week, and the dog hair and stuff just collects. If I had that Roomba, the carpets and floor would look ever so much nicer.

It’s a good thing I had an extremely positive weekend cuz my week has been one large vat of :mad: :mad: :mad:. (You thought I was going to say something else, didn’tcha?) It’s hard to imagine the level of frustration I would have reached with even an average weekend. I think I’m taking muskrats and baby bunnies to work tomorrow. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I had 3 separate conversations about “this too shall pass” today. At least I have a nice supportive boss who doesn’t mind if I vent and sometimes says the stuff I feel like saying. Truly a peach.

Speaking of bunnies…I have a very cute baby bunny in my garden this year. It’s eating my delphiniums. :frowning: I’m hoping I can still find a way rescue them. It’s supposed to rain today, but hasn’t quite gotten there. I have a bunch of plants that need to be watered and I’m hoping the rain will get here soon and take care of that for me. (Pleeeeeeeease?)

I’m planning to spend as much of the weekend as possible in my garden. I’m sure getting lots done would be highly therapeutic at this point.

Now I’m gonna go find a bit of dinner and finish my recap of the weekend that I never got to earlier. Maybe that’ll give me the inspiration to survive tomorrow without hurting anyone. ::Thinks cheerful thoughts::

Ok, people, that does it! The muskrats and bunnies (and possibly rabrats or muskbits) are molesting the hamsters. Get 'em out of here now! You want animals, fine, but you will have to take care of them. I’m sick and tired of all this cleaning up and picking up after everybody. Oh, and would it kill any of ya to at least try to put your dirty clothes in the hamper just once! And get out of the living room with that grape koolaid, we just had the carpet cleaned!
