Good, good.
You have often joined the lesser minds of the MMP in persecuting me.
Another miracle has happened. (I am still on hold for the first one. Thanks for the warning, Swampy!)
The Kroger near my place of employment where I often purchase lunch and frequently dinner-a habit from living in the woods, far from civilization, and loath to take a lengthy trip to a grocery store-but I digress.
The Kroger had small amounts of pork ribs packaged. I brought one home last week, and we marinated it in a curry-1 part red curry paste, two parts ginger, three parts garlic and soy sauce for the culinary minded, but again I digress.
To return to the miracle, I brought another little rib package home tonight, and Mrs. Plant (v.3.0), the Light of My Life, never a fan of ribs, exclaimed, “That is not enough!”
I have to watch dogbuts at six ante meridian. To deal with yet another Dogbutt on the 'Dope is far too much.
I shall mention this to the Pope when I get off hold.
“Your call is vera importnate to us anda to Him. Please continue to hold-a”
They are playing Elton John.
I’ve met you in person. While there might be a slight resemblance, I am fairly certain that you are not a cat. Although, there wasn’t any lasagna being served that day…
Then I suggest one of you leave. :dubious:
I gave blood last night. They tell you to drink lots of extra liquids. Then they say no alcohol. Ummm, so which is it, do you want me to drink extra liquids or not?
I felt the missing O[sub]2[/sub] delivery cells while running tonight.
Keep the dogs, lose the flytrap.
Jell-O shots aren’t liquid. Just saying.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 62 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of ONLY 85 for the day. Well BRRRRRR! I may have to don a sweater to mow.
Mowage and smokeage are on the agenda today. Like I said, I know how to live on a bonus day off!
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, I shall get chikin’ 'n ribs ready for smokeage. Mowage shall ensue shortly after that.
Happy Firday Y’all!
My little nap yesterday really messed me up. Between that and the unusually chilly night (it dropped into the 40s as we slept), I wasn’t able to fall asleep. After tossing and turning and half-dozing and trying my relaxation trick (relax the toes, relax the feet, etc, etc) I finally got up around 2 and put socks on, then wrapped myself in an afghan under the covers. That bought me 4 hours of uninterrupted repose. Moral: Don’t nap!
Today is go-to-Fredburg-to-pick-up-motorcycle-paint day. We’ll head out about 11 or so. That’ll give me time to put a coat of kiln wash on the shelves in anticipation of fireage. I was going to mow today, but it’s still too wet, so tomorrow will be mowage day. I should strip the bed - it’ll be a good day for drying sheets in the sun. Beyond that, I’ll just wing it.
Meanwhile, we should be thinking about assigning Time-Out to several of our more childish mumpers - and you know who you are! If you can’t behave, you won’t get dessert or after-dinner drinks and cigars, so KNOCK IT OFF! Buncha brats!!
And no, lack of sleep does NOT make me cranky.
Happy Firday!
Blurf.
Important study on earworms, or Ig Nobel nominee???
Calling out again today (ugh). Trying to cough up a lung and not having gotten much sleep is not terribly compatible with driving or working.
Up, caffeinated, off today. It’s only supposed to be 77 today. Happy Firday!
That would mean something completely different if you were posting from Colorado.
now. now boys willl be boys.
Spidey, I lean towards Ig Nobel.
Feel better, Nettie
I’ve known about that rule for years! Enjoy your, uh, smokeage. snerk
I’m the same, FCM. If I take a nap during the day, it takes me forever to get to sleep at night, no matter how tired I still feel. OTOH, my late Father and still-around brother both drop off in the middle of the day for 30 minutes or more and at night will be soundly snoring 5 minutes after hitting the sack.
There Ain’t No Justice (TANJ!)
Got my teeth worked on yesterday, the dentist said I had a chipped tooth, it required some picking and drilling, but not near a nerve so no novocaine for me. It actually is better, but the area she worked in is…not exactly sensitive, but you know something was going on there.
Then got measured for a mouthguard (I have a mild overbite and also have been known to take a chuck out of my inner cheek at times), which meant that they had to take a mold of my teeth. Not really unpleasant, but having a mouthful of ‘mold stuff’ stuck to your teeth for several minutes is not something I would recommend for the holidays. But it’s done and now I just have to see how much my insurance picks up.
In to work today, but I expect we’ll be sent home early for the weekend…so I can start mowing my yard…oh joy.
Nice to meet you, Stainless.
I went out and had coffee this morning. I must continue work on the music arrangement today.
Happy Firday!
The sun is shining and supposed to warm up a little. I hope so, this wearing shorts and t shirt one day and sweats the next is getting old.
Today is mowage day here as well.
I need to do some laundry and general straightening up.
Must be something about going to the armpit, even the dog slept all day yesterday.
Mowage has been accomplished and smokeage continues. ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out so mowin’ was easy peasy. I am now all showered and purtified. Next up I shall make cole slaw for tomorrow with some for dindin tonight. I envision dindin’ bein’ ribs, slaw, baked sweet N.O.T., and garlic bread. Take that Sonny’s BBQ!
consuming coffe and making breakfast(East Asian style burritos with curried turkey bacon, Sriracha eggs and shredded radish, carrot and cucumber garnish). Gonna take the truck out to be washed after breakfast and Gordie’s morning walk.
Glad the teeth are better, Metal mouse.
You ain’t kiddin’! My spousal unit will fall asleep on the couch, then get up, watch an episode of Sons of Anarchy on Netflix, then come to bed and crash. Altho, to be fair, he doesn’t always sleep thru. He’s still recovering from knee surgery and if he twists the wrong way while turning over, it wakes him up and he has a bad night. But I let him sleep in this morning, and he seems to be feeling human, so that’s good.
I just finished hanging the sheets out on the line and I’ve put a coat of kiln wash on the shelves. For the non-potters among you, it’s a coating that flakes off easily in the event that the glaze runs to the bottom of the piece being fired. If there was no kiln wash, the pot or whatever would be fused to the shelf and would have to be broken off. Not good. Anyway, all the shelves are drying and I’ll assemble/load the kiln when we get back this afternoon.
Neighbor is building his garage - I see trusses leaning against the trees he didn’t hack down. It’ll be interesting to see how long it takes and if it remains standing. He brought in a metric buttload of dirt to level that corner of the yard, but he didn’t put anything around the dirt to keep it in place. It’s in a pretty shady area, so plants aren’t much of an option. But, not my circus, not my monkeys - I hope he knows what he’s doing.
Meanwhile, I’ve got an hour to kill. I chose well not to mow - the grass is still wet. Tomorrow will be better, I’m sure. Something to look forward to. rah.
Blurf.
Been on my annual camping trip to a field full o’ buttercups for the past week, and just got back last night. Enjoying the proper bed, but not the real world in general.
There, doing stuff is entirely optional, and spending a full day reading books and playing silly board games while slightly drnuk is wholly acceptable; but here I’m back to night shifts tonight, and apparently I should be a responsible adult pretty much all the time again.
This does not seem fair.
Hope everyone behaved appropriately while I was away.
