**FCD **wants to take the monster. I swear, it seems like all the stuff I make that will likely sell, he wants. The man drives me crazy!!!
I just finished dead-heading my iris (tho a few are still blooming) and pulling some weeds. I also hacked down a tree on the hill that refuses to die. I cut it back every year, and every year it comes back. Stoopit tree…
Having a cold drink to cool down. I need to clean the smoker. ick. Looking for reasons not to do it, but I’m running out of easy chores. Stoopit smoker.
It’s a beautiful day outside, so I sat out there with the dog for a bit.
The last load of wash is in the washer, when it’s done I can move the washer away from the sink and back across the room out of the way.
Then I can run the dishwasher.
Or for all I know I can run them both at the same time.
In my mother’s house we can only do one water intensive chore at a time. It was a surprise when we went to visit my grandmother and you could take a shower while the washer was running.
I was going to get the trash ready to go out but there probably is no trash pickup tomorrow.
Too bad because this is one week we have a lot.
I’m going to have to look it up to see if they will pick up on Toosday.
Sorry **Doggio ** I’d never curse you.
I’m still annoyed at the dog for peeing on his blanket and that he thinks every time he moves he deserves a treat. He’s spoiled, very spoiled.
N.O.L. is ready. Ok, leftovers from yestiddy, but still I had to take it out of the fridge and nukulate it so that’s work. Also, I trimmed my toenails. I’m wild when I’m alone. Wild, I say!
I need to stop feeling guilty for having a good life.
I have a friend who is on the edge of being homeless and I keep thinking I have two extra bedrooms. He is a very high energy person who would drive me nuts, and he has a 5 year old son, double nuts.
My niece is going to be homeless in a few months. I have two extra bedrooms and an attic. She would drive me even more nuts with four boys ages 2, 4, 9 and 11.
In spite of Smokey, I lolligagged in bad until 1pm, Law & Order reruns playing quietly on the TV. The Cat, however, did all she could to coax me out of bed short of gabbing me by the leg and pulling.
sari if they are more than you can handle, then that’s reason enough not to offer. However if you should offer to let either one move in, make it for a very specific period of time and stick to that. Tough to do, I know, but you have a right to a life as well.
Takin’ a break from the cee-mint pond. I need some a/c for a bit.
I know I won’t offer but I feel bad if I don’t.
I also know that if I say only for x number of days, weeks, whatever, it won’t work. There will always be some excuse not to leave.
FCM I luv the penguins! And the piggies! And the monster! And you’ll have to let me know if the dog bowls actually work to slow down fast eaters. I have a Newfie - I’m fairly certain he actually just inhales his food. He’s usually done while I’m still pouring food in his buddy’s bowl.
OMG!!! The guy who came to look at the bike just left. He arrived driving a Mercedes (that becomes significant.) He did a test drive, he asked **FCD **all kinds of questions for more than an hour. He offered $1000 less than we’re asking (which is almost $4K below retail) and he wants us to get it inspected and pay for any repairs it might need. It’s a 2004 - what are the chances that something will need to be done?? He’s not willing to bargain - pleading poverty. See above about driving a Mercedes. And he lives in Silver Springs - that’s a DC suburb. We couldn’t afford to live there!!
Anyway, he’s gone and if he calls, I told **FCD **to tell him we had a higher offer with no strings attached. We’ll see how much he wants the bike.
**sunny **- our daughter has a pug who inhales his food. She’d asked me to make her a bowl to slow him down. I looked on line and saw how they were done, then made a couple. We’ll use one for Higgs, too - that little vacuum snarfs her food down way too fast.
Glad you like my critters. The piggies are fun to make, but the monsters are a real blast - I can go wild!
My dad and sister and I went to the grocery store and bought groceries, and I’m doing some work on music arrangements. So it hasn’t been an exciting day, but it’s been a productive one.
Cee-mint pond is over for da bear. OYKW is still out there. I made him slather on some sunblock before I came on inside. I’m sure he’ll be in shortly however. It’s beginnin’ to cloud over so I’m hopin’ some rain will move on in durin’ the night.
MOOOOOOM I’m glad to know your smoker is now all squeaky clean.
sari not offerin’ is the best thing. I’m sure they can make some kind of arrangements for themselves. After all, they are grownups.
One more (and hopefully last!) phone extension is run. I think that puts a phone in every room except the master bathroom, which we generally use only for showers.
Just don’t know what to do about kids playing with phones. I guess if they come back, I’ll either need to shut off the phone system entirely or figure out how to require “Dial 9 for outside line” on all extensions.
One good thing came about running that last line is that it was the only extension that involved going into the attic. When I was up there, I found the main heating/air conditioning duct had separated so we were merrily air conditioning the attic. I don’t even want to think about how much money has leaked away up there.
Not only clean, but I just reassembled it. Ready for the next batch of whatever. I want to do a turkey, but there haven’t been any in my preferred stores. I should try some others. Or I’ll just get a couple of chickens.
