MNF Cowboys/Eagles Shootout

Yeah I think both teams will be exposed when they face a real defense. The announcers are having orgasms on the scoring but get real, with a defense that doesn’t happen.

What a bonehead move though by the Eagles wide receiver. That was stupid.

That was the most painful five minutes of fantasy I have experienced in a long, long time.

In my big-money league, I have both McNabb and Jackson starting; that cost me ten points there in a close matchup (I am currently up seven points, I have those two, my opponent has TO).

In my small-money league, my opponent has Westbrook; with that “free” TD, he is up two points on me; I have Witten to go against him.

God damnit.

(All of that said, very entertaining game so far!)

Real defense meaning the defenses of which teams, exactly?

DeSean Jackson needs to grow up. That was a boneheaded move on par with Leonard Little.

Oh ESPN is loving this, Greatest Show On Turf II, with both teams doing it. But I think next week the battle of PA will leave green blood on the green turf. They have combined to beat the Rams and the Browns can you wait until they play someone with a win before you goo your pants about them.

Interesting question, actually. I think you’d have to say Pitt has looked the best so far - all of the other teams that have looked good on D have either faced at least one very weak team (NE, Tenn, NYG), or lost a minimum of one game they probably should have won (Chi, Minn, Jax). Not a great opening two weeks for the big defenses.

I kinda want to hear Reid just tear into him for that.

It may be bad defense, but it’s definitely fun to watch!

I agree it is fun to watch, and I think some of the rules they designed was to do just that. (Make shootouts… more views more ad money) Being a fan of a ground and pound team it sorta sucks.

DeSean Jackson was classic. I remember Chad Ocho Cinco(ne Johnson) doing that in college

They’re both doing so at the moment, in fact.

Right. And even though I was mostly just being a dick, one has to concede that there’s at least reason to believe Dallas and Philadelphia’s defenses are professional enough to be considered “real,” is where I was going with that.

And if nothing else, I think that most of us can agree that, until McNabb’s leg shatters into several pieces about three games from now, these are two of the top offenses we’ve got.

Or Reggie Brown comes back. Whichever comes first.

I think this game has had more egregious, terrible, and generally stupid face mask penalties than any other that I’ve seen relatively recently. Here, have another fifteen, we don’t need them!

This game has exhausted me, but I don’t think I can sleep…

If we’re downgrading performance based on playing weak opponents, Pittsburgh isn’t going to end up on top considering they played the Texans and Browns.

The move was actually on par with DeSean Jackson. He did a similar move in the High All American game in San Antonio. The guy is a complete idiot.

And that’s excluding the ones that weren’t called!

We clearly need some of the resident Browns fans to tell you what a powerhouse their offense is!
