Moderator Contact List?

tl:dr - I think there should be a sticky in ATMB listing the forums and which Mods to contact for each.

So, I wanted to ask a question about whether something was appropriate to post in IMHO, and wanted to send a PM to the Mod. And I realized, as much time as I spend here, I still don’t know off the top of my head who the moderator(s) is/are fro IMHO. Or any other forum for that matter.

I’m abashed to admit it, it seems as though I really should know. So then I went tooling around a bit to try and find out, and finally google searched on the word “moderator” and “IMHO” at the SDMB site and even then just got a list of threads in which somebody with a Mod title in their name had posted. There’s no way to tell who the right one is?

I think we need some sort of directory.

If you just click on the forum page then the moderators responsible for it are listed at the bottom just below the thread titles. Like for ATMB it’s TubaDiva, Gfactor, C K Dexter Haven.

For IMHO it’s Ellen Cherry, Gukumatz, Idle Thoughts, fluiddruid.

GQ: Colibri, samclem, Gfactor, Gary “Wombat” Robson, engineer_comp_geek.
GD: Gaudere, tomndebb, Jonathan Chance.
Cafe Society: Marley23, twickster, Ellen Cherry, Gukumatz.
Game Room: Gukumatz, Idle Thoughts, RickJay.
MPSIMS: twickster, Ellen Cherry, Idle Thoughts, Hal Briston.
The Pit: Miller, Gfactor.

Or click here for a list of the mods and forums they handle.

This link (thanks Oakminster) is also available from the board front page, which lists all the forums, under the name “View Forum Leaders”.

The only problem I have is that, like quite a few forums, there doesn’t appear to be a link to tell people how to contact a moderator. If I didn’t know many mods’ email addresses from other correspondence, and had a problem logging in, I would have to create a new account to PM someone. And if I had trouble registering, I’d have no clue how to get help.

Email contact info for when you cannot login to PM or report posts is listed several times in the stickies in this forum, including on the general rules and FAQ and the IP ban thread. New users or people unable to login can simply read the portions of those stickies relevant to their need. I don’t see the problem; why should we create a shortcut to email a moderator for people who don’t read prominent threads in the forum named About This Message Board?
