I’d liken it to State Troopers vs. city Police.
The State Troopers (admins) roam freely acrost the boards, doing what and whatever they wish.
The city Police, on the other hand, stay mainly within their confines, eating donuts and whatnot.
While the city Police technically have power across the entire state and are within jurisdiction everywhere, they have their assigned area to patrol which they stick to (due to respect for the other officers, and abject terror of the unknown [the unknown being forums 9, 10, 11]) unless extenuating circumstances call them from their bounds.
Administrators, Lynn and Tuba, have been here forever. They are somewhat hermited from age and are rarely seen except in dire circumstances.
Mod Mark II, Such as manny or slythe, are somewhat more active and prominent (only in amount of action, certainly not quality) yet stick mainly to their own fora due to routine and complacence.
Mod Mark III, aka recent additions, such as Veb and Coldy, have been and extremely active for a year or so. They frequent all the forums and are on here constantly (nearly to a fault!) and therefore, may be quicker on the draw to fix a tag error, or boot a thread to it’s proper place or whatever, simply because they are likely to make it there first. (Also, these power hungry bastards are out to make a quick name for their self. Coldfire is aiming for “Quickest Temper in the Northwest” so watch out! He’s got a sharp aim!)
On top of that, the sheer number of persons helping with this board these days make it much more likely that a person who is a mod for another forum will happen across a problem before the mod for that forum.
In the time of JillGat, Nickrz, CKDexthavn, TubaDiva, David B, and Lynn Bodoni, there was a mere 6 moderators for 7 forums (TubaDiva did both ATMB and CCC, IIRC). Now that we have 8 forums and 15 mods, we’ve added but a single forum but doubled and half again the number of mods. Sheer probability, chap.
