Youre all so funny you make me want to shit. Youll notice that in the original “porn” post I did state that I may well get bored of the whole social experiment thing. And I can indeed report that I am officially bored with it.

However some issues remain outstanding:

  1. you all seem to have had a good laugh at my expense so I dont know why youre complaining.

  2. the “that which you dont understand” epigram - no one appears to have even come close to understanding it which makes me wonder about the intelligence of those who have tried.

  3. the “xanakis porn message board” - this could not be my board because on my board, I would never ban anyone, ever, for any reason. If a troll appeared I would rely on the wit of myself and my co-posters to show the troll up for the fool he is.

  4. the only genuinely funny joke above was the “Bangkok” one.

  5. the use of the word “Stalinist” was entirely appropriate in the context of what I was trying to say. Im aware that this and the “Hitler/Nazis” accusation are somewhat overused and are often used by the intellectually lazy. However this does not mean to say that the terms have no meaning at all - they should be used when it is correct to use them. And in this case it was a correct usage - I was suggesting that the moderator who deleted my post was adhering to an agenda wherein only statements that fit in with the accepted norm are allowed to remain on the board.

  6. Finally, I note we are allowed to throw personal insults at each other in this forum but I choose not to. Why? Because basically Im a nice, polite person who was brought up better than that.

Well, of course they have an agenda, you twit. Their agenda is to keep the board running as smoothly as possible. It’s a thankless task.

“The accepted norm” has been accepted here for good reason…it helps cut down on the nonsensical crap that occurs on boards which are unmoderated. I spend most of my online time on these boards because of the moderation of the boards, not in spite of it. It helps that most of what goes on here is usually entertaining, or informative, or worth reading in some way.

So if you have a problem with the concept that certain kinds of posts are non grata here, then just go find yourself another playpen, OK? Nobody’s forcing you to hang around these boards, and God knows nobody will keep you from leaving.

My original question was to the moderator, I didnt realise I was gonna have to have a silmantaneous argument with 5000 other people at the same time.

A lot of people seem to have misunderstood my “Stalinist” remark. I said it was justified WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF MY ARGUMENT.

Im not suggesting the moderator is, in fact, a Stalinist. What I was saying was that the moderator may have been displaying a Stalinist-like attitude.

The mistake people have been making is when they say “its not Stalinist - those are the rules”. Now I may agree or disagree with the rules but that isnt important - while Im here I must abide by them.

But I am free to accuse the moderators of a Stalinist-like approach to the rules. Since I wished to accuse the moderators of POSSIBLY possessing a Stalinist attitude then it was entirely correct to use the word “Stalinist” EVEN IF I AM COMPLETELY WRONG IN MY ACCUSATION.

It was still correct to accuse them of “Stalinism” since that was what I wished to accuse them of. It was correct within the context.

It is irrelevant to this discussion whether or not the moderators really are Stalinist (which Im sure they’re not).
