I like Luke. The actor’s got impressive comic delivery for a kid his age. I also like the Luke-Phil relationship; it’s one of the rare father-teenaged kid duos who actually get along on sitcoms.
Totally loved the episode, but there was one thing I didn’t understand. “Whambulance.” When we were led to believe it originated with Mitchell and Cam, I thought it was a George Michael joke that I didn’t get. Finding out it came from Claire, I realized it was a joke I didn’t get that I didn’t get.
Little help?
It’s a riff on ambulance when your “injury” causes you to whine (waa-waa, like a baby crying).
When you’re all whiny they call you a Waaa-mbulance.
And the actress who plays Alex, who’s IMHO even better, was born the same year.
Thanks, everyone.
What movie is that from?
I didn’t realize she was that young; that is impressive. (I did know she’s been in the news due to some type of stage mom scandal this year but I haven’t kept up with it; she’s also the much younger sister of the kid who played Pugsley in the Addams Family movies.)
Disney’s The Kid.
