“Ghetto fabulous”
I also enjoyed last night as well; my favorites are the gay couple, they always seem to give me the most laughs.

I almost stopped watching after episode one, but decided to at least give it a chance. This last episode, I can tell that the show is hitting stride. The characters seemed too over the top in the first couple of episodes, but I think that was necessary to develop the backstory. The gay guys are my favorite characters, but Manny is picking up speed.
I loved it when they broke Manny’s pan flute.
I just started watching this last week, and really love it. “Dad, you just ruined gay for me.”
I had very low expectations when I watched the first pilot episode, so I was very pleasantly surprised how good it was. What appeared to be three separate stores came together at the end. Overall, the acting on the show is very good; even the kids delivered their lines well. I’m gonna keep watching.
And then the testimonial with Gloria where she saying the clothing is ok but if he did the dance with the pan flute, Manny would die a virgin was hilarious.
“Fire and Nice”
“Claire and Present Danger”
“Oh no, and now you stepped on it!”
I liked how the dad had a picture of them on display (he’s more proud of them than they even realize).
“guilt fades, hardware lasts forever”
Just because it’s a brilliant line of writing:
“Always be closing. Don’t ever forget great home ideas just keep lurking mostly nearby. Often people question realtor’s sincerity. Take umbrage, violators will…oh shoot”
I thought he said “hard work lasts forever.” Which makes more sense, given that he has that picture of the two of them on display.
This show is a big surprise for me. I was very blah about the pilot but my roommate set up a series recording and I would hear her laughing hysterically every time she watched. I had my doubts but this show really picked up. I am amazed at how well integrated all of the stories are. This show is hilarious and I laughed all the way through the last episode.
I heard “hardware” too.
This show started off “OK”, but is getting better and better every episode. It has become the first new fav sitcom in awhile.
However, the actor who plays Phil…I just can’t stand him. He was on a short-lived series where his mother and father were doctors and he was a dentist and his sister was the “loser” of the family…he was horrible then, and I still can’t stand him. Yes, I know that is supposed to be his character, but he is such a “mugging” type of actor.
Otherwise, the cast is great - and yes, the Gay couple is the highlight - if they ever cancel the show, wish they would spin those two guys off in their own series!
This show just keeps getting better and better. I just watched this weeks episode and it had me rolling from start to finish. Ed Norton playing the Izzy LaFontaine character was absolutely classic, and had the best line of the episode: “No, actually he’s the idiot, he fell in love to a breakup song.” The story with the gay guys and their friend was pretty weak, but I’ll take any opportunity I can get to look at Elizabeth Banks, so it worked out for me. Jay spraying Manny with the spray bottle was hilarious too.
I liked that they finally had an episode that reversed Phil and Claire’s roles, and showed him to be the knowledgeable and sensitive one, and her to be the idiot. Their relationship was getting much too one sided.
And Jay knowing all Haley’s tricks to get out of the house because Claire used them all when she was a teenager was great.
I liked that show; I think it was called Out of Practice. I remember really liking the actress who played the loser sister, Paula Marshall, who currently plays Gary’s ex-wife on Gary Unmarried. I caught a piece of Hellraiser III a couple months back and laughed to see an extremely young Paula Marshall playing the goth chick.
I had no opinion of the guy who played Phil from his Out of Practice days, but I was a big fan of his smarmy douchebag in Dawn of the Dead.
Okay, I’ve only see a couple minutes of the show, but I’ve got to ask…
Who plays the blonde neighbor lady with the huge rack?
-Joe
This was the best part–the “he’s impossible to shop for” line, followed by his laundry list of things he wants. My wife buried her head in her hands watching this ep, because she saw a little too much of herself in that particular scenario.
