An artist named Peter Stults has caused an online commotion with his imaging of recent movies done as classic film posters, with casts of the past. Here are both parts of his gallery. My fave is Julie Andrews starring in “The Sixth Sense”.
Martin & Lewis and Jack Lemmon in “The Hangover” has a certain charm to it!
There’s a third gallery as well.
I’m not seeing Leonard Nimoy in Die Hard. He’s never done that kind of action movie. I think a better idea would have been to reset the movie in the late sixties and have Lee Marvin or Robert Mitchum as the star. They were the kind of actors cast in John McLane roles.
Isn’t that the point? Bruce Willis had never done that kind of action movie before either.
The Blade Runner one is genius. I mean, Bogart and Ava Gardner are a gimme, but a young Marlon Brando in the Roy Batty role? Perfect.
The only one I don’t think is right is For Special Services. Isn’t that a 60s Jean Shrimpton, an early 70s Jagger and a Network-era Holden, and a (what?) 1990s Renault? (what is that car? I can’t place it.) What era is that one from?
ETA is the Walter Mitty an update of the 1947 film, or a back date of the 2013 film?
Yeah, that was my favorite of the bunch. Also liked Inception, Avatar, 28 Days Later, and Iron Man 3. Some of the others seemed a bit arbitrary.
I like the Avatar one best. Shatner as Sully is near perfection.
The* 28 Days Later* poster borrows from I Am Legend:

Doesn’t mean it isn’t cool - just noting.
Wonder if these are all borrowed images, or whether he adds his own artwork as well.
I’d buy a couple, but he needs to offer them in bigger sizes.
SAAB 900, I believe; late '90s.
Out of all of them, that’s the one that works the best for me.
