Can attack helicopters see you when you have cold blooded?
Nope. I have a sniper build with Cold Blooded, and I love being able to wander around in the open with impunity even with Harriers and Helicopters buzzing around the place.
I’m playing on PC, and I ran across my first two instances of blatant hacking over the weekend.
With killcam on it was unbelivably obvious they were using hacks. Different players (I presume), but funnily enough I came across them both in the Derail map.
Hah, I enjoy swatting Harriers and helos when they first arrive, before they have a chance to do any damage. For some reason, the Pave Lows always sneak up on me and are gunning me down before I get a chance to sneak a shot at them.
Cold Blooded Pro makes it so when an enemy puts their aiming reticle over you, it doesn’t turn red. Also, your name doesn’t pop up. If you just lay there on the ground and keep switching weapons, you look like a completely inert dead body.
It’s really REALLY fun.
Then somebody was cheating. Cold blooded + Ninja but the helicopters had no problem killing me
Cold Blooded doesn’t make you bullet proof. You have to make sure you are not standing next to someone who is visible or you will get hit also, good chopper gunners try to keep strafing the spawn points.
What were they doing? Outside of the general hacks (like unlimited Emergency Airdrops), I haven’t seen any Derail hacks yet. Luckily, for all the whining I hear on other boards about rampant cheating, I still very rarely run into it when I play.
Yeah, someone without Cold Blooded that spawns next to my Cold Blooded ass gets pegged with a Predator missile hits me too.
Just dropping into the thread to say a) I so suck at this game, and b) I’m totally having fun playing it.
I bought it when it came out, and then ignored it because of my aforemention sucking and the holidays and all of that. Just this last week I started logging some more time … maybe a half hour or so after work most days. I’m not very far in, I think I’m only a level 10 at the moment, but if anyone wants to either kill me a dozen times in a minute, or handhold me through a battle …
… I’m “Jack-Mike” in the PS3 world.
Map knowledge. That’s the most effective way, at your level, to be better. That and communication with your teammates.
The killcam showed a red square on me. Also sometimes on the killcam looks like I appear on the heartbeat sensor of the guy who killed me.
Red square = you aren’t running Cold Blooded.
Heartbeat sensor = you aren’t running Ninja.
Also likely: you’re mistaken.
I’m using both. I’ll record it with Fraps next time.
I was just thinking before you posted this, it could have been a hack or a cheat or something. I rock Cold Blooded almost exclusively and love walking right under Pavelows and Harriers and not fearing Predator missiles.
Generally I don’t have problems with Cold Blooded, but yesterday it was a nightmare. Also there were helicopters in the sky for the whole duration of the game. At one time there was a Hind, an Apachee and a Harrier AT THE SAME TIME. I thought this was not possible, when there’s a chopper up there it says you’ll have to wait for the airspace to clear before calling your own.
My killstreaks are set to Harrier, Pavelow, and chopper gunner. That’s 7, 9, and 11. If I get to 7, it just has to get two kills for the pavelow. Those two just need to get two more kills for me to get the chopper gunner. After that, if I’m in a safe spot, then I should be able to roll pretty nicely to a 35-3 game.
I thought chopper kills don’t count to the killstreak?
What, the Pavelow?
Edited to add: It can. You have to get a kill after you call the Pavelow in and before it gets its first victim.
They do if you earn them. If you get them in care packages, the kills don’t count toward your killstreaks, but if you have it set to 11 kills for a Chopper Gunner, once you get it, those kills count.
